"And the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom, and Lot saw and arose toward them, and he prostrated himself on his face to the ground. And he said, "Behold now my lords, please turn to your servant's house and stay overnight and wash your feet, and you shall arise early and go on your way." And they said, "No, but we will stay overnight in the street."And he urged them strongly, and they turned in to him, and came into his house, and he made them a feast, and he baked unleavened cakes, and they ate."

Flat People Travel to Israel!
The story of flat Stanley has inspired the desire to travel. Ms. Rantz's 2nd grade students finished creating their very own flat people, each with their own back story, to travel with the seniors on their Senior Trip to Israel. The students developed characters and background stories for how each person became flat. They then shared with 3 sets of buddies to develop their ideas before continuing their stories. The seniors will take the flat people with them and take pictures to send back to RMBA. This unit helps in character development and relationships between 2nd and 12th grade.

Worldly Rocks
While learning about different types of rocks and how they form and can be broken down into sediment, 7th grade students in Ms. Goldstein’s science class looked at sand from all over the world under microscopes. They compared sand from white sand beaches in Florida, large grain sand from Morocco, lava rock sand from Maui, and fine grain sand from Cancun to see the different minerals and crystals that make up rocks and sediments.

Cartography
Middle school students in Mr. Duke's class are learning the art of cartography by mapping out the Middle East with rolls of masking tape. After they defined the region's geography, the students explored the journeys that our ancestors made through Eretz Yisrael. The lesson also included a discussion about the conflict that unfolded across the Israel-Gaza border this week.

Symmetry and Science
Kindergarten students in Mrs. Blumberg's class learned the concept of Symmetry in Math. The students cut symmetrical shapes and then colored them symmetrically. It was a challenge for them, and they produced beautiful work. In Science they have been working on Habitats, specifically the Woods, the Rain Forest, Antarctica, and the Desert. Students drew and cut animals for each habitat and created beautiful posters for each one.
