With the deployment of Councilmember Robert Thoms, the City of Tacoma seeks to temporarily fill his District 2 Council seat.
District 2, which includes the Stadium District, Downtown, Browns Point and the Port is a key area in the economic landscape of the South Sound. City Council should appoint an individual who not only lives but who also works in the jurisdiction in order to act with full understanding and in the best interests of District 2 constituents and stakeholders.
After years of preparation and months of anticipation, the South Sound welcomed into Commencement Bay massive cranes which will help to accommodate larger shipping vessels, allowing the Port of Tacoma to remain competitive in the global trade market.

Spaceworks Tacoma is accepting applications from Pacific Northwest artists and curators to host an exhibition in the 950 Gallery (formerly called Spaceworks Gallery) .
Any individual artist, curator, artist team, or curator team in the Pacific Northwest may apply. Both solo exhibitions and group shows are welcome. Past participants of Spaceworks’ programs may apply.
