Operation #InspireTheFuture: Free Airshow Tickets for 3,500 Students

On August 30, 2,000 students from Rancho Cordova's public schools gathered at Dave Roberts Community Park for a big surprise! The Sheriff's Department brought a glimpse of the California Capital Airshow by landing a Huey Helicopter to deliver 3,500 free tickets to the Airshow for Rancho Cordova students and their parents - a total of 7,000 tickets worth over $175,000. Honoring Some Hometown Heroes

On August 16, a vehicle collided into an apartment complex, which caused a serious fire. Brothers Ulices and Moises Buenrostro helped pull residents from the building to safety. On August 20, the brothers were recognized at City Hall for their courageous efforts. Thank you! Learn more

The event, organized by the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, will feature all nine Barrel District locations and will include craft beer, spirits and mead, along with food pairings. Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Mather Field at the MACC

Promise Program Kick Off

The City of Rancho Cordova welcomes the 2nd cohort of the Folsom Lake College/Rancho Cordova College Promise program as they embark on their first college semester of their freshmen year!  Approximately 90 students will have the opportunity to attend their first year of Folsom Lake College fee-free thanks to funding through the City's Community Enhancement Fund. 

Cordova High Student Recognized for Financial Education Program

Recently, Cordova High student Jacquelin Hernandez was recognized by City of Rancho Cordova Mayor Linda Budge for completing the DollarWise Summer Youth Campaign's Financial Education Program. Jacquelin was presented with a certificate and iPod following a raffle sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Mayors. 

Softball Field Construction Underway

The second phase of construction for the softball fields at Mills Middle/Cordova High has begun. The completed project will include seven softball fields, an entry monument and a plaza with a snack bar. The project is partially funded by the City's Community Enhancement Fund and is scheduled to be completed in early 2020.

Rancho Cordova Library Temporarily Closed in September

The Rancho Cordova Library will be temporarily closed September 4-30 for an interior refresh. The library will reopen on Monday, October 1 and will be open during normal business hours, seven days a week.
