Spirit Week
 
Spirit Week begins Monday, Sept. 17 at the JH/SH campus. I t's the week leading to Homecoming where students dress up every day in costumes and compete by grade levels. It may seem like complete chaos, but classes unite with each other in order to achieve victory together! This being said, there can only be one winning class at the end of Spirit Week. Let's see who is  victorious this year! It all begins next Monday, Sept. 17. 
The following themes for each day are listed below:

Monday - Hawaiian Day

Wednesday - America Day
Thursday - Sci-Fi Day
Friday - Blue & White Day

Homecoming Weekend Details 
 
The Homecoming Game will be Friday, Sept. 21 at the Route 4 Campus against Mars Hill Academy. 

The Homecoming Dance is at JH/SH campus Saturday, Sept. 22 from 8:00 p.m. -11:00 p.m.

*Students must have a dance contract filled out in order to attend the Homecoming dance. Contracts will be given to students when they purchase a ticket. 
* If any parents are interested in helping with set-up or tear-down,
contact Sarah Peters.  Set-up would be Friday night, following the Homecoming soccer game, and tear-down will be at 11:00 p.m. Saturday night. 

JH/SH Parent-Teacher Conferences

Conferences at the JH/SH campus  will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
* Teachers will not be available from 4 - 5:00 p.m. for a dinner break. 

T he second day of conferences will follow on Friday, Sept. 28, from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
*Teachers will not be available on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for lunch. 

*Please note that parent-teacher conferences at the elementary campus take place in November.
Sophomores & Seniors
 
On Tuesday, Sept. 18, Jostens representatives will be meeting with the sophomore and senior classes in the chapel during assembly to give them information about ordering class rings, graduation caps/gowns, and invitations.

On Friday, Sept. 21 Jostens representatives are returning to pick up orders in the athletic lobby before school .

College & Career Day

College and Career Day is coming to the JH/SH school campus on Tuesday, Oct. 30. We are currently looking for speakers willing to come in the afternoon to speak to small groups of junior high and senior high students. Would you be willing to invest in the next generation of professionals by spending an hour or two with us?

JH/SH Campus Principal's Panel

The JH/SH Principal's Panel is a valuable time of communication between the JH/SH principal and parent representatives from grades 7-12. The purpose 
of this time is for the principal to communicate and clarify recent happenings and solicit input from the panel on various issues. The panel is comprised of two parents from each grade level and members serve for two school years. The panel meets once a month on Thursdays from 12:00 -1:00 p.m., from September through April (with the exception of December). A light lunch is provided. 
We are in need of volunteers to represent 7th, 9th, 11th, and 12th grades on the 2018-2019 Principal Panel.

Register Now!

SmartPrep  is a series of high-quality, affordable workshops designed to help students prepare for the ACT college entrance exam. Led by Mrs. Gina Smearsoll, these workshops will be held in the Science Center at the JH/SH campus. Workshops started August 28.

Gold Canyon Candles 

The 8th grade class is selling Gold Canyon candles to earn money for their Gettysburg/Washington, D.C. trip. Candles are $20 each. They burn evenly, have safety wicks and cool wax, and they burn for up to 130 hours with a room-filling fragrance. The candle scents are the following: Pomegranate, Apple Leaf, Mulled Cider, Cranberry Orange, Dakota Fig, Sugar Cookie, Sweet Pea, Vanilla Scones, Maple Bark, Lavender Chamomile, Juniper Berries, Spruce & Citrus, Cozy Christmas, Cinnamon Vanilla, and Cinnamon Pinecones. The candle sale ends October 1. If you would like to purchase candles, please contact an 8th grade student or Mrs. Granger

CCS students will bring their talents to the stage the evening of February 1 i n the JH/SH chapel. More information and student  sign-ups will be released later in the fall. 

The admission fee will be $5 for the night of laughter, art, and skills accompanied with yummy desserts and appetizers.
