Dear Families,

On Friday, we forwarded communication from the Archdiocese regarding the reopening plan: Reopening with Trust.  The St. Edward Reopening Teams are working to adapt that plan to our specific needs at St. Ed's.  Communication with you is our priority, so we will be updating you throughout July and August regarding what reopening will look like at St. Edward.  Your students' health and the health of our staff and St. Edward families is our priority.

We understand that these circumstances are difficult, and we know that in-person instruction is so vital for our students' academic and social/emotional well-being.  The St. Edward Reopening Teams are doing all that we can to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our students.

I continue to pray for the safety and well-being of our entire school community.

St. Edward, pray for us!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Sara Lasica
Principal

We are also accepting registrations for new families and are able to conduct tours over the summer.  Remember that any current St. Ed family that refers a new family that attends the 2020-21 school year will be credited with $500 off of their tuition with no limit!

Please email Mrs. Lasica (slasica@stedwardschool.com) for more information.

FACTS, our online tuition management system, will begin to send out initial emails to parents to finalize agreements for the 2020-21 school year.  If you do not receive an email in July, please contact the school office.  Even if you are paying in full, we request that you set up your account with FACTS so that before/after care can be billed and we can keep financial records in one location.

Meet the Teacher!
Ms. Berg, 4th Grade

My name is Kate Berg! This school year will be my second-year teaching since graduating from Butler University in 2019. I majored in Elementary Education with dual minors in Special Education and Reading Intervention. I completed my student teaching in both 2nd and 4th-grade classrooms; these experiences gave me a great foundation for teaching primary and intermediate grades. Last year, my first year teaching, I taught 5th/6th Grade English Language Arts at a Catholic elementary school in Indianapolis. This summer, I moved from Indianapolis to Chicago, and I became a new resident of the Lakeview neighborhood! I am excited to be closer to my family, who reside in the western suburbs. I attended Catholic schools from pre-school through high school in Wheaton, IL, which is where I grew up. A few of my favorite things are: the color blue, iced coffee, teaching reading workshop, the book To Kill A Mockingbird, and my favorite place to visit is Boca Raton, Florida. I am so excited to meet all the students and families of the St. Edward community!

Uniforms are required for Kindergarten-8th Grade.  Please see the uniform policy for more information.  Students will need a regular uniform and a PE uniform.  St. Edward School utilizes three vendors for uniforms to give parents options: SchoolBelles, Lands' End, and Fantastic Lettering.

Masks (required for all students) can be purchased through Schoolbelles, Lands' End, and Fantastic Lettering.  If you feel more comfortable purchasing masks through another vendor, please make sure that masks do not contain messages or images that would distract from the educational environment of the school or be contrary to our Catholic faith.
