In a continued effort to support Participating Contractor companies and Properties during the COVID-19 pandemic, SoCalREN is pleased to formally announce the
Comprehensive Common Area participation option for the Multifamily Program.
Through Comprehensive Common Area projects, Participating Contractors can focus on easily accessible common area projects that do not require interaction with tenants or entering tenant units.
Comprehensive Common Area projects only require two qualifying measures one of which must be an electric measure. Therefore, this offering is only open to customers who receive electric service from Southern California Edison. Incentives are simply a percentage of the total project cost—
35% for standard projects and 45% for projects located in Disadvantaged Communities (DACs).
Comprehensive Common Area Measures
- Common Area Lighting
- Central Domestic Hot Water (Recirculation Controls, Pipe Insulation)
- Pool Upgrades (Pool and Spa Pump Controls, Heaters, Timers, and Covers)
- Laundry (ENERGY STAR® Clothes Washers)
If you have a customer who is interested in replacing any of the above items but is hesitant about making in-unit upgrades due to COVID-19, the Comprehensive Common Area offering may be perfect for their needs.
We have developed a marketing flyer specifically for the Comprehensive Common Area offering. You can download a PDF or order complimentary printed copies on the
Contractor Resources site.
Increased Incentive Reminder: As announced in June, Whole Building projects not located in DACs will receive up to 60% of the total project cost. This increased incentive is permanent and is being offered in an effort to help Property Owners and Participating Contractors with recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Properties located in DACs will continue to receive up to 75% of the total project cost.
