Outdoor Play

Many studies have been done that link outdoor play to positive brain development.  During childhood, outdoor play helps children develop skills that are essential for positive experiences in the classroom.  Turn taking, trying new things, experimenting, utilizing the whole body, fine and gross motor growth, developing anticipation and prediction skills are all examples of skills learned through outdoor play.  Studies have also demonstrated that for various reasons, outdoor play time has diminished for this generation.  Toledo offers some excellent parks and areas that are perfect for outdoor play!

Reminders

Please send your children to school in closed-toed shoes.

If you have had a phone number change, please notify the office or change the number on Procare.

Let your child's teacher know if you have any concerns about your child's transition into school.  Conferences are available to you upon request.

The director's office has an open door policy.  Please stop in to chat if you have questions, concerns, praises or just want to say 'hi'.
Classroom Schedules

In order to reduce transitions (which can be difficult for preschoolers) we have revamped the schedules for each classroom.  Each teacher will be notifying classes of the improved schedules next week.  Skeleton schedules (specials, lunch, recess & rest time) will be posted outside of the office today and will be replaced with the finalized schedules as teachers insert library, science lab, curriculum, center, gross motor, whole and small group times.
