EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF LINCOLN CENTRAL EVENTS

Nothing says magic like a Lincoln Central neighborhood event, so please join us this Thursday evening, September 13th, as we bring the neighborhood together for yet another magical evening in award-winning Fire Station Park & Gardens. Evening in the Garden, one of Lincoln Central's most popular events, is a reception style gathering celebrating our wonderful neighborhood and saluting our volunteers. The public is invited to attend regardless of your neighborhood. Evening in the Garden will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (but, we'll stay as long as you're having a good time). This year's event will feature complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine and sangria from popular neighborhood food and beverage establishments including  Geja's  Cafe ,  J9 Wine Bar , and 7 Plates Cafe . And, due to the popularity of the neighborhood potluck table at our Summer Sipper event over the years, the potluck table is also now included as a feature at Evening in the Garden. If you've never been to one of LCA's Fire Station Park events, here is a brief video from the most event recent held there, the 4th Annual Summer Sipper, an event very similar to Evening in the Garden.

Prominent Magician Returns to Fire Station Park

Appearing for the third time at Evening in the Garden will be prominent Chicago magician, the amazing  Benjamin Barnes . Benjamin will stroll through the event performing mingle-magic, also known as "close magic on the move."  Mingle-magic is performed for small groups for approximately 5-7 minutes at a time creating a personalized, magical experience. Your eyes won't believe the mind-bending illusions Benjamin will perform. You'll hear: "How did he do that?" more than any other words on Thursday evening. Earlier this year, Barnes dazzled attendees at LCA's 4th Annual  Summer Sipper also held in Fire Station Park. You never quite know what Morgan might say next, so be prepared! LCA members receive an on-going discount of 21% at J9 Wine Bar (1961 N. Halsted) including on the purchase of tickets for J9 events wine tasting that have a paid admission fee. Our friends at 7 Plates Café (2221 N Lincoln) will be sending over selections of their casual gourmet restaurant fare to add to the fun. 7 Plates, a recent and welcome addition to our neighborhood dining scene, is a stylish yet affordable restaurant, filled with the type of warm ambiance often associated with a Lincoln Central event – and with a unique, delicious flavor profile.   Much like Lincoln Central, there is something for everyone at 7 Plates starting with their tasty lunch, dinner or brunch. Oh, and their desserts are spectacular. Stop by 7 Plates soon and thank owner Adina Gherman for her participation in Lincoln Central events. And while you are there, stay and have a delicious meal (and don't forget dessert).

Originally a feature at Summer Sipper each year, the growing popularity of the neighborhood potluck table led to its inclusion at Evening in the Garden this year. We invite you to enjoy savory and sweet treats prepared by LCA members and others in the neighborhood—many inspired by the flavors of the garden. (You'd be amazed at how many recipes are traded among neighbors after our fabulous potlucks.) And feel free to bring your own creation should the spirit move you. If not, we still hope to see you Thursday evening under the stars at award-winning Fire Station Park . The Park won a Chicago Excellence in Gardening Award in 2017 and is a finalist again the year. Lincoln Central Association and our friends  Geja’s Café invite LCA members to join us for a complimentary evening of fun, fondue & fine wine as we gather around the three fireplaces on Geja’s beautiful outdoor patio. Seating is available on the patio. This special evening is a feature of LCA’s  Values From the Heart™  program in which neighborhood businesses with heart offer special values and host exclusive events in appreciation of those who support LCA through membership. This free event is reserved for LCA members who are current on their membership dues and their guests. If you are not currently an LCA member and would like to become one, you may join here.
