Building Resilience in Foster Care: A Caregiver's Toolkit
Thursday, September 24th, 9:30am to 12:00 noon (tentative)
Featuring Mary Catherine Williams, Child Development Consultant

RESILIENCE refers to the ability to rise from adversity and persevere or adapt when life experiences are difficult. Research shows that resilient people are healthier, live longer, are more successful in school and at work, have healthier relationships, and are less prone to mental health challenges and addiction.

Resilience Skills can be learned and nurtured, and foster parents have a unique role in helping children in their care build a more positive future through
resilience skills and strategies. This workshop will explore current research in resilience and reflect on concrete strategies to support this important and life-changing work.

Who Should Attend?
Foster Parents, Resource Social Workers, Guardianship Workers,
Adoptive Parents, Relatives Caring for Children and Teachers.
