St. Anne Women's Book Study Group

The Group will read the book, Parenting Towards the Kingdom, for their next meeting on Sunday, Sept. 23 (this is a change from a previously announced date of Sept. 30). The book is full of good discussion of relationships in general as well as between parents and children. All women are invited!

“Th e Orthodox Christian tradition is filled with wisdom and guidance about the biblical path of salvation. Yet this guidance remains largely inaccessible to parents and often disconnected from the parenting challenges we face in our homes. Parenting Toward the Kingdom will help you make the connections between the spiritual life as we understand it in the Orthodox Church and the ongoing challenges of raising children. It takes the best child development research and connects it with the timeless truths of our Christian faith to offer you real strategies for navigating the challenges of daily life.”

Copies are available at St. Anne's Bookstore!
Meals for Fr. Daniel and Chelsea Greeson

We are coordinating meals for the Greesons using the
“Take Them a Meal” website. The schedule is set for every other day and then all weekend, since everyone will be home. If you can prepare larger meals that would include leftovers, that would be wonderful. For those wanting to send meals during the WEEK but live in Oak Ridge, Allison Hatton is more than happy to collect them and take them to the Greesons (they live close by.)

Please have them brought to St. Mary's School OR St. Anne's Orthodox Church BEFORE 2:00pm during the weekday. Thank you! for your support!

The Greesons are EXTREMELY grateful!

October 18-21 -- Orthodox Campout in NC
The 2018 Area-wide Orthodox Campout in Hot Springs, NC is scheduled for Oct. 18-21
The campout is attended by Orthodox parishes in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia and Kentucky.

This year, St. Anne's has reserved 3 tent camp-sites for our parish for the event in Hot Springs, NC, this year – we hope to be able to accommodate everyone from St. Anne’s who may want to attend. These are riverside, central campsites. Deluxe Site 459 has water and electricity – and can accommodate 2 or 3 tents for those with special needs for electricity (sleep machines). It will also serve as our communal kitchen. Site 461 can handle 2 or 3 tents and has good trees for hammocks, and Site 463 is a group site that can accommodate about 10 tents.
The sites are filling up fast, so If you want space in the St. Anne's reserved group sites, please sign up on the reservation sheet at church. The cost of the sites will be split by those attending. Other campsites are available directly from the Hot Springs Resort and Spa site: https://www.nchotsprings.com/accommodations/
