Employment Diversity in Highway Construction (EDHC)

Construction Core Essentials Training - Center for Technology, Essex
Class meets for 11 weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays, October 1, 2018 until December 20, 2018. No class week of November 19
The course is a hands-on and classroom oriented program covering basic safety, construction math, hand tools, power tools, construction drawings, basic communication skills, basic employability skills, and material handling. The program is designed to ensure entry - level construction employees possess the necessary skills for successful employment with a major construction company in Vermont.
Students successfully completing the program will be considered for employment (guaranteed interview) with a major construction company and an enhanced starting wage. Click here for course description.

Qualified Signal Person & Basic Rigging - New England Crane School
September 24th, Burlington
October 26th, White River Junction
This is a full-day class which meets the requirements of OSHA's 2010 standard for third-party qualification. Participants must pass a written and practical signal test, and a written rigging test in order to receive their certification card.

ArcGIS - Vermont Tech
Intro to GIS: October 8-10, 8:30 am - 4 pm in Randolph
This three day training covers the fundamentals of ESRI's ArcMap and ArcCatalog applications, which will cover the collection, creation, manipulation, and display of spatial data in ArcGIS. Click here for course description
ArcGIS Online and Mobile Mapping: October 11-12, 8:30 am - 4 pm in Randolph
The use of web maps is becoming almost ubiquitous in the modern workforce. This two day training covers the creation and use of web maps and web mapping applications in the ArcGIS Online web mapping environment. Click here for course description

Hannaford Career Center (Middlebury): Shielded Metal Arc Welding I, Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-8 pm, October 15 - November 14.
Hartford Area Career & Technology Center: Introduction to Welding, Mondays & Wednesdays 6-9 pm, September 17 - October 10.
Vermont Technical College (Randolph): Basic Welding, September 29-30, 8am - 4pm.

CDL Training
We offer funding (up to $1,500) for women and minorities interested in pursuing their Commercial Drivers License. Training is offered through the five licensed CDL Schools in Vermont. Applicants must be 18 years old and have a valid Vermont drivers license.
