From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal
Dear Parents,
We are well into the swing of school! MAP testing is in its final stages and all of "specials" have begun.
We had a wonderful Mass at St. John Vianney with Padre Joe. It is always so nice to see him and hear his stories of Peru!
Please note: In case you child came home and said that one of our buses started on fire this morning - have no fear - there was NO fire and your child was never in any danger. One of our buses had engine trouble on the way to SJV this morning. The bus parked at s local church, the students were removed from that bus and put onto another bus.
We had a great time with Padre Joe and the students at SJV!
It is time to start thinking about the
SOLES FOR EDUCATION Walk! All students received the information for sign up.
Registration is FREE if you sign up before September 25th. You will need to sign up each participant so they can get their walk t-shirt.
Sign up under Mrs. Knippel's team. We would love to see a HUGE turn out from St. Anthony families. The walk will take place on
Saturday, October 20th at 10am so you can be home before the afternoon volleyball games!! Last year we were able to raise $10,000 for tuition assistance. Any and ALL pledges stay right here at St. Anthony's. As Fr. Tony mentioned at the Back-to-School Night, the classes are competing to see who can raise the most money.
The class with the most donations will receive a field trip with Fr. Tony and me! You may send donations into school or donate (if you choose) when you register. As always, don't hesitate to call with any questions!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Hot Summer Slice Event: Lights! Camera! Auction! on Friday! It promises to be a spectacular event!

Mrs. Kahler's 6th graders spent their first days establishing a classroom covenant. This month they will pray the Prayer to St. Francis of Assisi at the start and end of the day. Also, they often try to participate in a 3-minute retreat as a different form of prayer.
Before bonding over a treat, the 8th graders "interviewed" their 2nd grade buddies and then introduced them to both classes.

Adoration For Children With Cancer ~ "Let the children come to Me"
"Let the children come to Me ...for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these." ~Mark 10:14
Join us for Adoration!
Eli Hansen, his family & Eli's Super Squad need our prayers
for strength and miraculous healing as they embark on treatment for his relapsed Neuroblastoma. We also know that many in our parish and school community are living with or have been impacted by various forms of cancer.
God calls us to love and support one another during these difficult times. On Wednesday, September 19th 2018, our school will hold its annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Mass. That week, we are asking our parish and school communities to unite in a common call to Adoration, lifting up prayers before our Lord for Eli Hansen & his family, all families facing childhood cancer, and all here at St. Anthony on the Lake Parish braving cancer and its impact.
Submit Names Of Loved Ones Impacted By Any Form Of Cancer!
Submit name(s) of loved one(s) impacted by any form of cancer to be included on a petition displayed in the Chapel before the Real Presence of Jesus to Katie McGaver, subject: "Adoration". If you have already submitted names to Annie Staebler, you do not have to do this again.
"Adoration is to enter into profound heartfelt communion with the Lord, who makes Himself bodily present in the Eucharist." ~ Pope Benedict XVI
It is important if you sign up that you keep your commitment, as the Blessed Sacrament cannot be left alone.
You are asked to stay until the adorer for the next hour arrives. If a desired time slot is filled or you can only stay a few minutes, just come! More adorers are always welcome! Come alone or with family. All ages welcome! Your prayers before Jesus are precious too! If you are a regular adorer, your name has already been added to your scheduled Adoration day and time slot.
"Let the children come to Me." Bring the children to pray, lift up the children suffering, and let all of us - His children, young and old - come... Let all God's children, let His Church, come before the Real Presence of Jesus to be healed and loved by His merciful embrace. Amen.
