Fullerton College celebrated a grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Promise Center
on Oct. 29. Located in Building 2000, Room 2001, the center provides a dedicated space for students participating in the North Orange Promise to receive support while engaging with Promise coaches, mentors, faculty and staff. The event featured welcome remarks from NOCCCD Chancellor Dr. Cheryl Marshall, President Greg Schulz and testimonies from several student speakers who shared how the Promise Program has positively impacted their educational goals. The event was attended by district and Fullerton College staff, local city and state elected officials, high school partners and members of the community.

Sociology Club Hosts Sock Drive
The club is collecting new socks for men and women to donate to Pathways of Hope to distribute to local in-need populations. The collection runs Nov. 5 to Nov. 26. Seventh Edition of LiveWire Released
The Humanities Division has released the seventh edition of the student-run literary arts publication
LiveWire. The new issue features four poems, six prose pieces, and two pieces of visual arts by current and former students as well as members of the surrounding community.

Fullerton got the 2019-20 basketball season going on Friday night with a 91-55 win over Vanguard's JV squad in the Hornets Nest.

The Hornet football squad took a trip down to San Diego Mesa College on Saturday night and rolled past the Olympians 71-14 in what was supposed to be a Central Conference showdown. The FC scoring record was nearly broken tonight putting up 50 in the first half and scoring 71 total points.

Fullerton took care of business at home Friday night sweeping past Santiago Canyon College 3-0.

Women's Golf
FC golfers Geri De Ville shot an 89 and 90 in the Orange Empire Conference Tournament at Los Serranos last week. Her efforts earned her 2nd Team All-Conference. Up Next: The SoCal Regionals November 11-12 at Royal Vista.

The Hornets got their season underway at the Grossmont College Crossover. On Friday, FC knocked off the Griffins 79-46. On Saturday, Fullerton lost a close one to East Los Angeles 63-62. Up Next: FC (1-1 overall) will play at El Camino College on Friday, November 8 for a non-conference game. Tipoff is at 5 p.m.
Men's Soccer
Fullerton took a step back in the standings after dropping their last two games. On Tuesday, FC lost at Irvine Valley 1-0, and then lost on Friday at home vs. Santa Ana 2-1. Up Next: The Hornets (8-6-4 overall, 4-3-2 conference) will try and pick it back up when they host Santiago Canyon College on Friday, November 8 at 3 p.m.
Women's Soccer
The Hornets tied with Santa Ana College on the road Friday. They are still in a fight for the No. 1 spot in the standings. Up Next: FC (10-3-3 overall, 5-2-3 conference) will play Saddleback College at the Great Park on Tuesday, November 5 at 3 p.m.

Presence
Runs Oct. 24-Dec. 2, Art Gallery
Presence explores the meanings of the word, including "a person or thing that exists or is present in a place but is not seen", "a group of people, stationed in a particular place", as well as "a noteworthy quality of poise and effectiveness." Co-curated by collector Dee Kerrison and gallery director Carol Henke, Presence shares the work of artists addressing these concepts, including Patrick Martinez, Gabriella Sanchez, Calida Garcia Rawles, and Diedrick Brackens and more.
