DESCRIPTION:

Have you ever supported a family who was really struggling with their child's new diagnosis? Have you experienced the death of a child with whom you worked? Did you feel like you needed more tools or skills to support these families? Join us as we talk about the Family-Centered Care tenants that provide a foundation of support when responding to the needs of children and families experiencing grief. Anticipatory grief, grief and loss are typical responses when faced with a new diagnosis, a life-altering change, and transition to end of life care or bereavement. Learn what parents with lived experience have to say about their needs along the continuum and how providers can respond in ways that help families cope and hope.
