Family Nursing in Denmark
Family nursing has grown exponentially in Denmark in recent years thanks to the leadership of Dr. Birte stergaard, Denmark and her colleagues at the University of Southern Denmark. A recent review of the literature over the last decade found 15 qualitative research reports from Denmark that examined family phenomena. Dr. stergaard is currently examining a RCT family focused nursing intervention at three Danish heart failure clinics. The intervention uses the Calgary Family Assessment and Intervention Models as a framework.  Family nursing has begun to be integrated into undergraduate and graduate curricula. In May 2013, the Danish Family Nursing Association was officially established.
The 4th Nordic Conference in Family Focused Nursing will be held in Odense, Denmark, September 24-25, 2014. In August 2015, our international family nursing community will gather in Odense, Denmark for the 12th International Family Nursing Conference.

There are currently 4 IFNA members from Denmark.
