IFNA Vision and Mission Statements
Happy New Year! The beginning of a new year is a good time to reflect on the vision and mission statements of the International Family Nursing Association (IFNA). These statements were developed and approved by the IFNA Board of Directors on March 13, 2014.

Vision of IFNA
Nurses transforming health for families worldwide.

Mission of IFNA
The mission of the International Family Nursing Association (IFNA) is to transform family health by:
  • Serving as a unifying force and voice for family nursing globally;
  • Sharing knowledge, practices, and skills to enhance and nurture family nursing practice; and,
  • Providing family nursing leadership through education, research, scholarship, socialization and collegial exchange on all aspects of family nursing.

FAMILY NURSING RESEARCH NEWS

Dr. Patricia J. Kelly, USA, studies women in the U.S. National Guard units and their family reintegration experience following deployment to combat zones. [Read more]

Research collaboration between family nursing scholars in USA (Dr. Ann Garwick, Dr. Wendy Looman, Dr. Lori Anderson) and Iceland (Dr. Erla Svavarsdottir and Dr. Brynja Orlygsdottir) advances knowledge about school nursing and care of children with disabilities. [Read more]  

The IFNA Research Committee is responsible for the scientific review of abstracts for the 12th International Family Nursing Conference. A record number of abstracts (517) were submitted from 36 countries!  Two reviewers were assigned for each abstract.   Reviews were completed.  Program planning will be done over the next few weeks, with notifications going out to submitters on February 2, 2015.

12th International Family Nursing Conference


The 12th International Family Nursing Conference, sponsored by IFNA, will be held in Odense, Denmark, August 18-21, 2015

 

Exciting news from the Conference Planning Committee - CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Please visit the IFNA website to register for the conference and book your hotel reservations in the Radisson Blu H.C. Andersen Hotel. In the upcoming months, the Planning Committee will be offering a webinar on "Planning Your Trip to Denmark".
