Family nursing at the graduate level in Thailand began with visionary nursing leadership at Khon Kaen University in 1987 and later at Burapha University in 1996. Thai family nursing leaders established the Family Nursing Society of Thailand in 2003. The successful 8th International Family Nursing Conference in Bangkok, Thailand in June 2007 was hosted by Burapha University Faculty Nursing. This was the first time an International Family Nursing Conference was held in Asia. The Thailand Journal of Family Nursing was established through the Family Nursing Society of Thailand in July 2013.
