On Tuesday, June 30, a Preliminary Reopening Plan was presented to the school board and community. This tentative plan outlined the District’s instructional intentions during various phases, along with many other aspects. This presentation, along with the full plan, which is required to be submitted to the Department of Education and approved by the Chartiers Valley School Board, can be found on the Reopening and Planning page on the District’s website. We fully anticipate amendments to this plan as we are provided with more information; however, this preliminary plan is an attempt to provide some type of guidance and direction for our families and students.

According to data collected in the previous Reopening and Planning parent and staff surveys, more than 70% of our community has expressed a desire to return to in-person instruction this fall, whether full-time or through a hybrid of traditional and remote learning.

At this time, the goal is the get our students back into school, but there is still a great deal of summer left. We will continue to evaluate and receive guidance from the State, CDC, and Department of Education.

This survey pertains to hybrid learning, should restrictions and guidelines require us to adopt this model for the fall. Your honest input is encouraged and greatly appreciated.

This survey will close on Thursday, July 9, 2020.
