PTO President Message - Giving Thanks
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff, students, and parents of our Hillview community and reflect on how fortunate we are to be part of such a special place in the world. Our children are growing up fast; remember to enjoy every moment possible, the smiles and the joy, as well as the tears; these special moments that our village helps us navigate with love and support. November is the month of giving - the best gift is kindness to your fellow man. Our hearts go out to those around us who have been affected by the fires up north and we wish them comfort soon.
With heartfelt gratitude, Lil Perazich and Carolyn Kryger, Hillview PTO Co-Presidents

Tuesday, November 5, 5:00 - 7:00 pm, City Council Chambers, 701 Laurel Street, Menlo Park
The PTO would like parents to know that the ordinance banning the sale of flavored tobacco and e-cigarettes is being discussed at the Menlo Park City Council.
The Study Session is detailed
here
and is the second item on the evening's agenda; let our elected officials hear support from the community and make it easy to say YES!
We need your help:
- Attend and/or comment at the meeting in support of the City Council taking action; banning sale of flavored tobacco and e-cigarettes is second on the agenda
- Email the City Council here before November 4. Your name and email content will be part of public record (not email address). Use a positive tone, "We're writing to support City Council action on this issue", "Let's do this! It's exciting you're tackling this...", etcetera.

How does MPCSD handle air quality issues?
The recent fires remind us that there is a new "normal" in California. Our area is regularly impacted by air quality, and now, power outages.
MPCSD led the way among school districts in developing air quality protocols. Those protocols, informed by several different and reliable sources, are available at the district website year-round. Parents may make their own decisions about air quality and whether or not to send their student to school. Should you keep your student home for air quality reasons, your student's absence will be excused.
For more information about air quality protocols, visit our website
