Village to Access Lake Michigan Water Through IGA
An Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Village of Long Grove and the Village of Buffalo Grove to access Lake Michigan water has been approved by both villages. As part of this IGA, the Village of Long Grove has committed to investing $10,001 toward the project, in order to qualify for a State of Illinois grant that would cover the remaining project cost of $2,949,585.78. The announcement of grant recipients is expected to be made within the next 90 days. The Village chose to investigate connecting to Lake Michigan water due to a number of benefits, including a reduction in operating costs, increased water capacity for fire protection, and to preserve the Village's water allocation. Lake Michigan water would be provided to the downtown area, along with properties around downtown, which is expected to help provide economic development opportunities. Please click  here for additional information.

The Village of Long Grove would like to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to Long Grove Economic Development Commission (EDC) members Minah Hall and Pam Brown . Both individuals lent their professional expertise and many volunteer hours to assist the Village with preparing its grant application, which will assist with the immense cost of this project.
Restore Illinois Phase 4 - What it Means for You
On Friday, June 26, 2020, the State of Illinois moved to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan. Some of the changes are that groups of 50 or less can now gather, and indoor dining at restaurants/bars is permitted with capacity limits in place. Indoor/outdoor recreation options including youth sports, museums, theaters, zoos and more have also opened up, with specific safety guidelines. Illinois residents should continue to wear face covers in public, practice safe social distancing, and good personal hygiene through regularly washing hands and disinfecting commonly used areas/surfaces. For a more detailed breakdown of what Phase 4 means to you, click here. To view a video that provides an overview, click here.

Despite this change, Village Hall remains closed to the public at this time. Staff continues to work remotely, and Village services will continue to be provided to residents and businesses. Please click here to reach a member of the Village staff if you have any questions.
