Stewardship Scripture Reflection
Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

“The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word but then the cares of the world and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.” (Matthew 13:22)

Does the lure of riches and material goods choke God out of your life? Are you so caught up in earthly activities that you have no time for God? Gratitude and generosity are virtues that we should strive to do on a daily basis. Every decision we make either takes us one step closer to God or one step further away. What we receive at Mass every Sunday should be shared with others all the other days of the week as well.

GIVING
Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32)

Offertory – At Masses & Online Giving
(Weekend of 7/5/20)  $9,041.

A most sincere thank you to all families who choose to continue supporting the church through your giving. Your support is crucial and heartfelt. Words fall short in expressing our gratitude. May God bless you for your generosity.

Atlanta Diocesan Tribunal Advocate

We have an Advocate! Last summer, as part of a parish and diocesan need, COKAS requested volunteers to serve as advocates to those seeking annulments or marriage permissions within the Atlanta diocese. Jody Haas accepted this challenge and I am pleased to announce that after completing eight months of training on marriage and canon law, she was commissioned in May by Archbishop Hartmeyer as an Atlanta Diocesan Tribunal Advocate. As an advocate she is available to provide counsel to the faithful and defend their interests in the marriage nullity process.

If you or anyone you know has any issues concerning matters of permission or dispensations concerning marriage, you may contact Jody for more information or for assistance with preparation of petitions to the tribunal.

She can be reached at jhaas@atladvocate.com or through the parish office at 706-453-7292.

Embrace Your Inner Martha! Virtual Retreat July 26

Too often homilies on Luke’s story about two sisters in Bethany paint Martha as the villain and Mary as the hero, but that misses the true story!

This retreat explores how Martha models the path for each of us,
as we hear the personal invitation of Christ to greater inner freedom and fulfillment.

Two sessions on
Sunday, July 26: 10 AM and 2 PM
