Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center is hosting a Fundraising Euchre Tournament on
Saturday, November 2, 2019. This event will take place at 32150 Dorsey, registration begins

City Offices Closed for General Election - Tuesday November 5, 2019 is the very important day when we have the chance to cast our vote in the General Election. All city offices will be closed, including the 18th District Court, The Friendship Center and the William P. Faust Library. Trash pick up will not be affected. If you are unsure about the location of your voting precinct or would like to view your ballot before going to the poll, you can do so at

William P. Faust Library will be hosting a SAT practice test - Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. This event will take place at William P. Faust Public Library of Westland, which is located at 6123 Central City Parkway, in Meeting Rooms A and B. Take a FREE full length SAT test to get you prepared for the real test in April. Taking a practice test helps you become familiar with the format. This test takes roughly 3 hours to complete. Please bring a calculator with you (graphing and standard calculators are allowed). There is a required registration for this event and you need to arrive on time. Please see the library website at

Westland Historic Village Park is hosting a Paint & Sip Barn Event - on
Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. located at 857 N. Wayne Road. This event is being sponsored by the Westland Historic Village Park. The Paint and Sip event is where the participant will paint a Barn Quilt Block. Quilts are a way to pay tribute to someone in their life, past or present, or an event they would like to remember. City Offices Closed in Observance of Veterans Day - In observance of the federal holiday, all city offices, the 18th District Court and the Westland Library will be closed on
Monday, November 11, 2019. This day has been set aside since 1919 as a day to honor and pay respect to veterans who serve and have served in our armed forces.
City of Westland Mayor William R. Wild, City of Wayne Mayor John P. Rhaesa, Wayne-Ford Civic League President, Vic Barra, hold the 6th Annual Holiday Meals for Wayne-Westland Veterans and Active Duty Families - recipients will receive a (16-20 lb) turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce and rolls for a family of 6 - 8 people. The meal is free. All you need to do is register using one of the following methods,
