Meet and Confer re: LASD Policy Revisions
June 29: PPOA and Employee Relations engaged in a Meet and Confer teleconference on Monday to discuss policy revisions, tactical incidents and more. President Tab Rhodes and Executive Director Wayne Quint Jr. represented PPOA on this call.
Conference re: Issuance of CCWs
June 29: A conference call regarding the issuance of CCW’s for Custody Assistants and Security Officers was held on Monday. President Rhodes, Vice President Jim Blankenship, Secretary Tony Coleman, Director Jody Clounch, Executive Director Quint and Sr. Labor Representative Venise Wallace along with County Counsel and Sheriff’s Department representatives continued discussing CCW proposed policy, application requests and implementation of CCW’s. PPOA will be meeting with the Department again in the near future, anticipating the finalization of the CCW process.  
Support for Members at CRDF
June 30: PPOA was proud to distribute masks, hand sanitizers and energy drinks to union members and the LASD family gathered for the CRDF Pride BBQ on Tuesday. We will be distributing these items at units throughout the county over the next few weeks and look forward to connecting with PPOA members in the field.
Conferences re: Temporary Reassignment of Security Officers
June 30:  Multiple conference calls were hosted on Tuesday to address the temporary reassignment of Security Officers affected by contract reductions of County Departments that would be occurring on July 1st. Participants included PPOA Director Jody Clounch, President Rhodes, Executive Director Quint, and representatives from Employee Relations and County Services Bureau.
COVID-19 Conference with PPOA Legal Team
June 30: Tuesday represented the first regularly scheduled meeting of the week for President Rhodes, Executive Director Quint, Labor Rep. Wallace, Labor Rep. Teresa O'Neil, Intake Rep. Kevin Thompson and PPOA attorneys to address and analyze COVID-19 issues impacting PPOA members.
County Services Bureau Security Officer Temporary Reassignment Process
July 1:  Due to the unexpected contract reductions effective today, County Services Bureau (CSB) needed to temporarily reassign 22 Security Officers to vacant SO positions across the County. PPOA Executive Director Quint, Sr. Labor Representative Wallace and Labor Representative O’Neil were at CSB to address the impacted Security Officers and witness the previously agreed upon protocols for selection.   

Conference with Coalition of County Unions
July 1:   President Rhodes and Executive Director Quint represented PPOA in a conference call with fellow members of the Coalition of County Unions (CCU) to discuss consequences related to the County's budget shortfall.

Joint Meeting with ALADS and LASD
July 1: A meeting between PPOA, ALADS and LASD executives took place on Wednesday in order to discuss LASD budget shortfalls and anticipated curtailments. PPOA was represented by President Rhodes, Vice President Blankenship, Director Marquez, Director Romo and Executive Director Quint at this meeting.
