Top five outdoor activities to do in Rock Hall this summer
|
Rock Hall, Maryland is a great community to get out and experience nature. With summer now in full swing, be sure to add these top five outdoor activity recommendations from our staff to the itinerary of your next visit or extended stay.
- Bicycling: The streets of Rock Hall and country roads surrounding our small town are great for cycling. If making a stay at Haven Harbour Marina, Haven Harbour South or the Inn at Haven Harbour, take one of our complimentary bikes out for a summer joy ride.
- Fishing: With water in every direction, bring your rod and cast some line at the various public docks and landings located around town. For the full Chesapeake Bay fishing experience, book a charter with one of the town's many experienced captains. You will not be disappointed.
- Kayaking: Scores of coves, inlets and thousands of feet of protected shoreline make Rock Hall an ideal spot for kayaking and paddleboarding. As with our bikes, guests and slipholders of Haven Harbour Marina Resorts may take out a complimentary kayak or paddleboard for an on-the-water adventure.
- Sunbathing: Stroll down to Ferry Park, Rock Hall's municipal beach, and soak up the sun with family and friends. Pack a picnic and take in the delightful views of the Chesapeake, including the Bay Bridge and Baltimore skyline.
- Dining: Waterfront restaurants like Waterman's Crab House, Harbor Shack and Haven Harbour Marina's Passages Bar & Grill serve up fresh and locally-inspired cuisine in spacious outdoor settings. Catch a breeze while enjoying a delicious cocktail or the company of friends.
As precautions and government sanctions continue regarding concerns to public health and safety, take roads less traveled by ditching the crowds and getting outdoors. After all, nature is always open, and it awaits. Featured photo courtesy of Amy Davis, Baltimore Sun.

From the Desk of General Manager Woody Loller:
Haven Harbour Marina Resorts and COVID-19
|
It is great to have everyone back as things slowly return to normal. In our area, we are very fortunate by having few confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19). We have, however, observed from other states that their COVID-19 infection rates have risen considerably following the earlier opening of restaurants and other businesses.
At Haven Harbour Marina Resorts, we are committed to staying the course with appropriate protection procedures and adjusting recommended mandates and guidelines as this situation develops. Increased attendance to our marinas and inn have been matched by accelerated restroom cleaning schedules and the sanitation of frequently used surfaces, like door knobs. An outside cleaning service will be joining staff in keeping our facilities as clean and sanitary as possible.
As a reminder, masks are to be worn by all patrons entering indoor facilities and common areas on our properties. While on the grounds and docks, we insist that everyone follow recommended guidelines for social distancing by not congregating in groups. I understand this has become a monotonous and tiresome request, but it is important to not let our guards down as the virus continues to pose a serious threat nationwide.
Should we experience an outbreak or rise in cases in our area, it is certain that our operation would be forced to close under similar sanctions experienced earlier this year. Please help us keep our staff and customers safe and our business open for the remainder of the season. I thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation through these challenging times.

FCC BROADCAST TV TRANSITION
Some local TV stations in cities across the U.S. will be changing their over-the-air broadcast frequencies.
People who watch free over-the-air television with an antenna will need to rescan their TV set each time a station moves to continue receiving the local channel. It's the same scan you would do to find your local channels when you set up your TV or converter box for the first time. Only in rare circumstances will new equipment or services be required.
Subscribers to cable or satellite TV do not need to rescan. Service providers will do it for you.
