Labor Day Weekend Approaching
The end of summer is fast approaching, with Labor Day weekend happening in less than 2 weeks.
BHI Transportation announced it will be running a second ferry during the holiday weekend. CLICK HERE to view the schedule.

BHI Resident and Realtor
Mary Munroe Passes
Long-time BHI resident and realtor Mary Munroe passed on Saturday, August 18th at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Community Wide Standards Discussed at Recent BHA Board Meeting
Bald Head Association's Board of Directors provided details of the new draft Community Wide Standards at its regular August meeting. Several property owners attended in person and via telephone to provide feedback on the draft.
A small committee of Board members has been asked to incorporate the feedback into the current version and present a revised draft to the Board at its September 14th meeting.

BHA's Socialization, Education and Recreation Committee (SER), in conjunction with the Old Baldy Foundation, is looking for volunteers to assist in cataloguing documents relative to the history and development of Bald Head Island. Neither minimum time requirements nor recurring involvement is required.
This may be a perfect activity for residents interested in the history of the development of our island; for something to do on a rainy day; or for teens and young adults looking for community service hours on their resumes, etc. The only requirement is that volunteers have a smart phone on which they can download a scanning application from the iTunes or Google Play stores.

Card-making Class
Wednesday, Sept. 5th; 2-5pm

Join Pattie Caban for this fun class on card making with stamps! Class size is limited to 8 individuals (ages 12 and older) and the fee is $30 for 12 cards (4 each of 3 different designs). All materials are provided.

Afternoon Bridge
Wednesdays from 1:30-4pm

As an outgrowth of the recent bridge lessons, 'Afternoon Bridge' will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30pm - 4pm at the Association Center through September. It will be open for all levels of players from experienced players to novices. Come one; come all. We'll have 4 tables set up; bring your cards and anything else you need to play!
Afternoon Bridge will meet Wednesdays, from 1:30-4pm at the Association Center on the following days:

September 12, 19 and 26

Apple expert Larry Carringer will be providing Apple training at BHA through the summer at BHA. He will cover all Apple devices and most Apple software. Topics will vary. BHI Club Annual Meeting
Saturday, Sept. 1; 9am - noon
BHI Club
The BHI Club's annual meeting takes place over the Labor Day weekend and members are encouraged to attend. In addition to selecting new members for the Board, the Club will also be seeking the approval of the members to acquire the Shoals Club from Bald Head Island Limited. Voting is now available online for members - just go to www.bhiclub.net, log in and follow the links. If you're attending in person, the meeting begins at 9am on Saturday, Sept. 1st in the Ocean Room.

Enjoy beer and wine on the Old Baldy grounds while having an intimate Curator tour of The Smith Island Museum of History. History Happy Hour will take place on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:30-7 pm. (Note: August's Happy Hour is sold out so make your reservation early for the September 26th Happy Hour.)
Each month will explore a different topic of Bald Head Island History. Included in your reservation is admission into the Museum along with beer and wine. Spots are limited!

Please be sure to pull golf carts off the road so emergency vehicles can have full access in the event of an emergency.

Enjoy touring some of the beautiful and historic homes of Bald Head Island on Saturday, September 1st from 1-5pm.
The tour is celebrating 201 years of Old Baldy by showcasing homes built throughout the span of Bald Head Island history.
Tickets are $25 for the tour in advance or $30 the day of. All proceeds benefit The Old Baldy Foundation.
