Dear Friends of Idaho State,

From the moment I arrived on campus just eight short weeks ago, I have felt honored and excited to be a part of the Bengal family. The ISU community has redefined for me what it means to be welcoming. I would like to extend a sincere thanks to all of those who have helped Margaret and I feel at home.

My favorite day each year is always the first day of fall classes. This is a day where students embark upon the journey that will redefine their lives. This is a day where possibilities and dreams begin to converge. This is a day to remind ourselves why we are in the business of education. Every day, Idaho State University faculty, staff, and friends support education because it improves the lives of students. These students go out into our community, our state, and our nation and they make the world a better place.

Idaho State is full of possibility. This year, ISU is going to focus on our strengths, finding out what we do best and leveraging that potential. ISU is going to focus on the mission of the University while removing barriers to our success. But most of all, ISU is going to focus on the needs of our students.

If you're a graduate, please take a moment to recall the first time you stepped on our beautiful campus. R emember the first time you sat in a classroom or lecture. Remember that excitement, that apprehension. Now jump forward to the day you took hold of your diploma. The moment when you walked through Swanson Arch towards life and all that awaited. At Idaho State University, that is why we are here. We are here for you and so many others like you. We are here to change lives, to make them better.

To our community and all friends of Idaho State University, thank you. Thank you for supporting the University and enabling our successes. You assist in our students’ education in countless ways, from providing valuable internships to making them feel cared-for and welcome. Thank you for all you do.

I look forward to seeing the great things we will accomplish this year.

Roar, Bengals Roar!

Kevin
