Self-Respect Through Sacrifice

At the beginning we sacrificed alcohol. We had to, or it would have killed us. But we couldn't get rid of alcohol unless we made other sacrifices. We had to toss self-justification, self-pity, and anger right out the window. We had to quit the crazy contest for personal prestige and big bank balances. We had to take personal responsibility for our sorry state and quit blaming other for it.

A Fresh Look: New Websites for G.S.O. and Grapevine

The website was essentially a public information tool, containing answers to basis questions about A.A. and how to contact it. A.A.'s latest website redesign is scheduled to launch later this year.

Thinking about "On The Fifth Step" from the Book - Real AAs, Real Recovery "Step By Step"

Step 5: We pocket our pride and go to it, illuminating every twist of character, every dark cranny of the past, says the Big Book, as members who have just written their Fourth Step inventories now proceed to share their histories with someone else they can trust. This sharing, vs, simply admitting your faults to God, is vital to the recovery process. "If we skip this vital Step, we may not overcome drinking."

The River Roundup is the main support for Central Office in Bullhead City. Our office helps Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Lake Havasu City, Parker, Needles, Kingman and Laughlin.

Yes, positions have been filled! Planning has begun. With all the health issues going on this year meetings might be flexible and using more technology.

Founders’ Day has been an important part of the history of Alcoholics Anonymous. Our current celebration has its roots from our humble beginnings. Central Office is putting on an Event at the Alano Club.

Alcoholics Anonymous Founders Day

June 10, 1935 it all began, Dr. Bobs last drink. What is Founder's Day and why is it so important? Bill W was on a short-term job to Akron, Ohio. In the lobbly of his hotel, he finds himself fighting the urge to join the convivality in the bar. Bill consults a church post on the wall with the aim of finding someone who might lead him to an alcoholic with who he could talk. A phone call was made to Episcopal minister Rev. Walter Tunks gave a referral to Henrietta Seiberling, a committed Oxford Group adherent who has tried for two years to bring a fellow group member, a prominent Akron surgeon, to sobriety.

Dr. Bob lapses, into drinking again but quickly recovers. The day widely known as the date of Dr. Bob's last drink, June 10, 1935, is celebrated as the founding date of Alcholoics Anonymous. Dr. Bob and Bill spend hours working our the best approah to alcoholics, a group know to be averse to taking directions. Realizing that thinking of sobriety for a at a time makes it seem more achievable than facing a lifetime of struggles. Hense the twenty-four hour concept began.

The River Cities Central Office

Currently the office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10AM to 3PM. Looking for more volunteers to help keep the office running.

Please remember we all have Elections coming up at Central Office for "The Intergroup Committee Officers" they are voted into position. The are Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and IGL(like a GSR). Chosen by each Intergroup within the Area by a method of their choosing. Responsibility of the Intergroup Liaison is also determined by each Intergroup as are term of office and eligibility requirements. It is suggested that the term of office be concurrent with that of Area Officers and Coordinators. These positions are like all AA positions and have term limits. (Spirit of Rotation) Elections will be coming up sometime soon. If you are interested please come to a meeting to learn more. The Intergroup meetings are the second Monday of every month .
