Reopen Connecticut: Updated Industry Rules Now Available
|
|
While we have paused on the Phase 3 reopening of the state to protect the health of all of our residents, we have made some updates to our
industry-specific rules
after consulting with industry leaders and public health officials. These updates provide more specific guidance, as well as new recommendations for a broad range of sectors. Highlights include:
- Hotels are now permitted to provide non-essential services and amenities (e.g., valets, ice machines).
These and other sector-specific updates go into effect immediately. Businesses and non-profits that have already completed the
self-certification
process as part of Phases 1 or 2 do not need to re-register, but must comply with any new rules for their sector.

AHLA Update -
ACTION ALERT
|
We need your help.
Congress is actively debating the next recovery package. Now is the time and we must engage. The hospitality sector has been one of the
hardest hit industries
. Without fiscal and legislative action, our industry will continue to struggle. Two Important Action Steps:
1.
Amplify Our Priorities:
Congress must hear from hoteliers so that
our top priorities
are included in the next package. Since the start of this crisis, our grassroots efforts have proved immensely effective in supporting our industry’s efforts at the state, local, and federal level. We cannot do this without your support!
AHLA will launch A National Day of Action -- Save Hotel Jobs -- next Wednesday, July 29th. This effort is designed to provide a platform to you – our valued members - to support legislative action. On July 29th we want 100,000 of your letters to flood the offices of Members of Congress. Please add the date to your calendar and look for more information from us in the coming days on ways to engage – we’ll make it easy for you with draft letters and call scripts.
In the meantime, let’s start now. AHLA has put forth a
set of priorities
that will help mitigate the widespread economic loss and reduction in workforce opportunities so that our industry can begin to recover and rebuild.
Our priorities MUST be included in the COVID 4 relief legislation.
2.
New Survey:
Help us make the case for Congress: As part of the Front Desk Feedback survey series, we have
7 questions
for you. All responses will be anonymized, and no individual member information will be shared. The deadline is COB Monday, July 27.
Thank you for all you do to help our industry.
