Every few days throughout the COVID-19 novel coronavirus pandemic currently gripping our nation and world, our Sisters will share anecdotes and spiritual tidings with our families, friends, alumnae and benefactors. We hope these messages will help to nurture a sense of solace in these trying times.
How Our Sisters Are Spending Their Time
"I have found myself spending more time on Facebook -- posting updates and real information about the situation here in Italy, sometimes a bit of humor, and trying to inject a bit of spirituality."
- Sister Nancy Celaschi
Rome, Italy
"Sister Yolanda Escamilla and I walk about 2.5 miles each day at a local park to experience nature. This fills us with hope and peace. Our holy hour each day also is a source of great strength.”
- Sister Jo Goolish
San Antonio, Texas
“I spend some time every day praying for safety of my ESL students and their families. My mantra: ‘I am with you on the journey and I will never leave you. I am with you – always with you.’”
- Sister Barbara Brown
Bethlehem, Pa.

Teaching from Home
Sisters Maria Derecola (shown above), Carol Ann Papp and Jo Goolish have embraced technology to connect with their students while schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas remain closed. Read about their experiences here .
Staying Connected
Many of our Sisters (like Sister Karen Buco above) are using this time to connect and reconnect with family, friends and those who live alone. They text, email and send good old-fashioned greeting cards - even if it's just a few each day - to bring hope to others.
Following His Footprints
"At times like this when it can seem as if God has forgotten His people, I call to mind the last verse of the poem Footprints in the Sand ," says Sister Frances Marie Duncan. "I remember that it is in these times that God is carrying us." Read the full poem in the video below.
