ANNOUNCING NEW COMMUNITY MEMBERS
David Brudney, History Teacher
“I have been amazed at the openness, friendliness, seriousness of purpose, and intellectual humility that make the Academy such a special community. The Academy turns its Intellectual Virtues into a part of everything that happens on campus. The community is genuinely remarkable, and I feel extremely lucky to be able to learn from, and work with, the students and teachers of Intellectual Virtues Academy High School!”

Joanna Guzman, Art Teacher
“I believe it’s important to create an environment where teachers, staff, and students can grow and support one another. The Academy offers not only a strong curriculum built on critical thinking and perseverance, but also a caring community. I feel blessed to have found such a loving community in which I can be a part of and make an impact of lives of our future.”

Julissa Cardenes, Teacher Assistant
"I came to The Academy because this team truly cares about creating opportunities for their students, and staff as well, to thrive in a community with like-minded individuals who want to explore education as more than just a learning objective, but as a true foundation for becoming a free-thinking member of society. Kids need to know they aren't just another passing face in the system and I firmly believe the Academy proves that our students matter to us. The Academy gives me a chance to utilize my skills to make a difference to students who may not get as much focused attention from a more populated school setting."
BIDDING A FAREWELL TO MS. MICHELLE EARLEY
Ms. Michelle Early was one of our founding faculty members. She took on huge responsibilities the summer prior to opening, loved being there for our kids when they most needed it, and was always searching for how we could be a better team for our community.

We will miss her and wish her the best in her new position.
Message from Ms. Michelle Early
Hello Academy Community,

It is with a full heart I let you know, I will no longer be working at Academy High School. I am so thankful for my last 2 years at the Academy, getting to know each and every student and their families during this time. I will forever be grateful for all of my experiences.

"It's not that I'm so smart, it's that I stay with the problem longer." ~Albert Einstein.

With love,
Ms. Earley

ACADEMY ENROLLMENT
The Academy is continuing to enroll students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade for this fall! The first day is August 29- it’s not too late to enroll!

This is an exciting time to join our high school program. As we go into our third school year, we are doubling in size, serving 120 students in 9th through 11th grade for the 2018-19 school year. We have just a handful of spaces available in each grade for this coming fall. If you are interested in enrolling, please complete this online application .

We have been steadily building out new classrooms and are so excited to welcome families to the campus. However, due to new classroom renovations, we have to postpone tomorrow’s tour. We will be welcoming all students back to school the week of August 27 and will be happy to schedule tours that week.

CHANGE IN ENROLLMENT - We understand life circumstances change. To help us anticipate any additional spaces available for the upcoming year, please let us know if you Academy student will not be returning by emailing Mrs. Day. or Mrs. Sanders .
