PINC Rocks the House
Valley Children's would like to give a special thank you to  PINC (Philanthropy Inspired by the Needs of our Community) for their incredible gift of $120,000 to our Oncology Social Services Fund through their 10th annual PINC Party. This was a record-breaking year and we are grateful for the tremendous time and support each member of PINC put into this milestone celebration.

These funds will go to assist the hundreds of families who have been financially impacted by their child's cancer diagnosis. Thank you,  PINC , for being a part of the journey of hope and healing for these families.

Foundation Board Member Biography: Kim Ruiz Beck
We are so grateful to Tom and Kim Beck for  their recent decision to support a future Valley  Children's site in Visalia. The Beck family will honor Tom's mother, Mrs. Jeanne Beck, with a giraffe sculpture in the lobby.

Every year, Valley Children's treats tens of thousands of children who live in Tulare County across our network sites. We are dedicated to expanding access to care for every family living in our 12-county service area. With the support of Tom and Kim, we are one step closer to making that a reality.

Kim grew up helping with her family's business, Ruiz Foods.  "I am proud to be a part of keeping my father and grandfather's legacy alive and proud of all the Ruiz team has accomplished," said Kim. Kim is the Chair of the Board for Ruiz Foods, a company founded by her grandfather, Louis, and father, Fred. Kim's dedication to her family's business has made a substantial impact as the company continues to grow and expand under her leadership with production facilities in Dinuba and Tulare locally; Denison, Texas; and Florence, South Carolina.

Kim is not a stranger to advancing the mission of Valley Children's. In addition to her many other duties, Kim joined the Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors in 2006. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the Foundation Board of Directors in addition to being on the Valley Children's Hospital Board of Trustees.

As a leader for Valley Children's in the community, Kim facilitated a transformational gift of $1 million by Ruiz Foods in support of the West Expansion capital campaign in 2008. This incredibly generous gift allowed us to expand the Hospital to better accommodate our emergency department, surgical services and expand our pediatric intensive care unit. "Ruiz Foods believes that the children in our community deserve the best possible care.  Keeping them close to home where their family can be part of their care and recovery is very important.  I personally witnessed the amazing care they provide when my son, Travis, was a patient in the PICU many years ago," said Kim.

Kim and Tom have repeatedly supported Valley Children's through many giving programs. Kim is also an active Las Madrinas Guild member. Together they have three sons and reside in Visalia. Kim's tireless efforts to support Valley Children's and her community are truly remarkable. "I have watched my father's dedication to supporting the community in which we live and work.  Tom and I hope to set the same example for our family."

Thanks a Million, Wells Fargo!
Wells Fargo has been a tireless supporter of Valley Children's. Recently, it reached an incredible milestone: $1,000,000 cumulatively donated to Valley Children's Hospital. Over the last 35 years, Wells Fargo has generously sponsored numerous events and campaigns, including Harvest Ball, Kids Day, the KISS Country for Kids Radiothon, and the ABC30 "Futures Worth Fighting For" Telethon.

"Wells Fargo contributes to Valley Children's Hospital because it does what we can't -- take care of and heal our children when they are in their most vulnerable state," said Ken Ramos, Wells Fargo's president for Central California Business Banking and Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation Board member.

"The efforts of physicians and professionals at Valley Children's Hospital have enabled our youth to grow, thrive, and become civic and community leaders, professionals, and contributors in the places we call home. Whether it's helping babies during their first few hours of life through Valley Children's NICU at St. Agnes Medical Center, supporting the Children's Fund to help low- and moderate-income families for their child's care, or promoting healthy lifestyles for former cancer patients via the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program, Wells Fargo is honored to be part of a child's journey toward leading a healthy and fulfilling life."

Fourth Annual ABC30 "Futures Worth Fighting For" Telethon
On August 9, the fourth annual ABC30 "Futures Worth Fighting For" Telethon was held in the rotunda at Valley Children's Hospital. All day, ABC30 broadcasted live, sharing stories from families and staff about the incredible care provided to the children of the Central Valley.

We are pleased to announce that the Telethon raised an incredible $116,120. We would like to thank The Walt Disney Company for their matching donation of $100,000 to support patients and families. Together, that means $216,120 was raised to support the children we serve.

We could not have achieved this amazing total without the help of our volunteers, the donations from the community and the support of our generous sponsors. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Derek Carr Touchdown Challenge
Another year of the Derek Carr Touchdown Challenge has begun and we want to invite you to join us for another great season.

For every touchdown pass Derek completes in the 2018-19 season -- plus any rushing touchdowns -- participants will donate $100 to DC4KIDS.  In appreciation for participating in the Touchdown Challenge, members (and up to three guests) are invited to an exclusive reception with Derek and Heather Carr at the Hospital.

Participants will also be acknowledged in a weekly "Touchdown Count" article in The Fresno Bee and post on the Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation's Facebook page, recognizing Derek's performance in the game as well as our generous Touchdown Challenge club members' names.  First-time membership renewals will receive a special Derek Carr Touchdown Challenge polo for their continued support. Members are encouraged to promote themselves as Touchdown Challenge club members on social media.

For more information you can click here or call the Foundation at 559.353.7100.
