COVE ART FAIR 
Sunday, October 20   
The annual Cove Art Fair will take place at the North Suburban YMCAArtwork will be on display for the first three weeks of October at the Community Gallery located at 2750 Techny Road in Northbrook. A culminating reception will be held for artists, their friends and families on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., where light snacks will be served and art supplies will be raffled for the artists. ELEMENTARY AND JUNIOR HIGH HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL 
Friday, October 25

All elementary and junior high students are invited to a Halloween costume and dance party from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at The Cove School. Students can enjoy a pizza dinner, dancing, a photo booth, carnival games, prizes and a quiet space. WINDY CITY BULLS GAME FUNDRAISER
Saturday, November 9

Students, parents, friends and family are all invited to see the Windy City Bulls, a G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, play at 7 p.m. at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. Along with a portion of the $20 tickets going to Cove, kids will get a chance to high-five Windy City Bulls players as they run onto the court. All are welcome! SPOTLIGHTING COVE'S ART THERAPY PROGRAMS

This school year, Ms. Vallejo, Cove's art therapist, is increasing student access to independent art making for the entire Cove student body. The Elementary unit has enjoyed daily process art exploring new media each week during recess. The Junior High and High School units are given the opportunity to explore their unique creative ideas alongside fellow student artists during weekly open art studios. HALLOWEEN SCHOOL DAY ACTIVITIES 
Thursday, October 31

High school students will be treated to bagels with scream cheese and juice compliments of the Parent Association and are encouraged to dress in school appropriate costumes. 
Elementary and Junior High students will take part in our annual Halloween parade, followed by festive activities in their classrooms. students are encouraged to bring costumes to school they can change into after lunch. Please bring school appropriate costumes (no masks, weapons-related items or apparel, etc.).
LADIES AFTERNOON OUT
Sunday, November 3

Say "Opa!" to a great fall season with your fellow Cove moms! Cove's High School Blue, Yellow and White teams will play Palatine at 6:00 p.m. at Palatine High School, 1111 N Rohlwing Rd, Palatine, IL. Dinner will be provided. PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Monday, November 25 to Tuesday, November 26
   
Parent-teacher conferences will be going on from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday.  High School students are expected to attend their conferences.  There will be no school for students these days, as well as the rest of the week.

JUNIOR HIGH MALL DAYS
Every Other Friday

The junior high students will begin biweekly trips to eat lunch at Northbrook Court on Friday, September 6. Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign their students up for one or more of our amazing after school activities. There are activities for all interests, including mathematics, robotics, homework help, sports, music and so much more. Please note that parents are responsible for arranging transportation home from after school programs. Be sure to check out two outstanding performance-based opportunities above: Our Sistema Ravinia Music Program (in partnership with the Ravinia Festival) for fourth and fifth graders and our Piven Theater Workshop for junior high and high schoolers. The Sistema Ravinia program provides world-class instruction in percussion, including note reading and rhythmic competency, right at Cove. With the Piven Theater Workshop, an instructor from the acclaimed North Shore performance institution will train Cove students in the theatre arts, right at Cove as well. Join for improvisation, games and theatre fun!

Students and families are invited to attend CHOICES 2019, a night of post-secondary transition information for students with learning disabilities and special needs, at New Trier High School - Northfield Campus. CONSTELLATION PROJECTS THEATER AUDITIONS

SPECIAL GIFTS THEATER PROGRAMS 

Students are invited to participate in the programs put on by Special Gifts Theatre, an education and therapeutic theatre organization with locations in Winnetka, Chicago, Palatine and Libertyville for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities ranging in age from 10 years and older.
