will establish and direct a new center for independent living in North Alabama under the umbrella of Disability Rights & Resources, based in Birmingham. Bachelor's degree or five years management experience in providing direct service, advocacy, community organizing, supervision, business administration, community development, rehabilitation administration, human services, and/or related field. Must have ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.   Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have ability to represent North Alabama CIL to the general public. Knowledge of legislation pertaining to independent living and other disability related legislation helpful. Personal experience with disability preferred. Must have commitment to independent living philosophy. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
