Dana Point Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Votes to Oppose Measure M |
The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce has a long history of supporting our local schools and the Capistrano Unified School District. We value the work CUSD does for our youth and our community. However, the proposed 1.8 Billion Capistrano Unified School Bond (Measure M) is not the right answer for our community and our schools.
After careful review of Measure M, the Dana Point Board of Directors voted to oppose Measure M bond for a few specific reasons:
- Measure M is requesting an unnecessarily large amount for unspecified school facility improvements.
- Measure M would also tax unsecured property such as office furniture and fixtures, business improvements, boats, jet skis, RV's and other personal property.
Measure M Bond would add to an already large tax burden placed on businesses and our local community. We ask you to join our local area chambers and the South County Economic Coalition by voting NO on Measure M.
