EBCBOR Raise over $9,700 for RPAC!
 
EBCBOR's RPAC committee hosted 'The Voice'  #RPACedition Fundraiser at the Villa Amalfi in Cliffside Park this past Thursday. Members had a phenomenal time singing and dancing while raising awareness to the general membership about the positive impact RPAC has on the real estate industry. The evening's big winner of the night was our very special young guest; Sofija Juric who blew us all away with her amazing voice! Housing markets across the nation are most assuredly active this summer, and buyer competition is manifesting itself into several quick sales above asking price. While the strength of the U.S. economy has helped purchase offers pile up, the Fed recently increased the federal funds rate by 0.25 percent, marking the second rate hike this year and seventh since late 2015.

House Passes Clean Authorization to Extend Flood Insurance Funding
 
The House on Wednesday passed legislation to extend flood insurance funding through the end of November. Lawmakers voted 366-52 to pass the measure a day before House members are set to fly home for the August recess. The measure extends funding that was set to expire on July 31.

Foreign Buyers Lessen Their Investments in U.S. Real Estate
 
Ongoing housing shortages and rising home prices are prompting international buyers to pause in their recent homebuying sprees in the United States. International sales in the U.S. totaled $121 billion from April 2017 to March 2018, a 20 percent decline from a year ago, the National Association of REALTORS® reports.

Instagram recently rolled out a new app called IGTV designed specifically for people who are interested in creating content for their followers. The app is unique in that it's made for long-form or vertical videos for mobile devices, and, unlike Instagram Stories, videos can run longer than one minute. While in its infancy stages, IGTV is an excellent platform for listing videos, open houses and casual videos showcasing the day-to-day happenings of a real estate professional.
