Kayitz @ Kulanu
Summer Update #2
Kayitz means summer in Hebrew
July 3, 2020

Dear Families,

I hope you are  enjoying the outdoors with your family and finding ways to stay busy. I wanted to keep you updated as we move into the heart of the summer and start making plans for the Fall. As parents, we are partners together in your child’s Jewish journey and your family’s connection to Bet Torah and beyond.

The Return to School- Kulanu Task Force has formed and is working on how we can gather together in the Fall. We continue to be committed to providing quality Jewish education while maintaining our Bet Torah  community with safety as a priority. This Task Force includes medical professionals, educators, psychologists and parents, led by Corrie Jacobs, incoming Education Chair.  Based on the teacher and parent feedback from our spring Kulanu classes,  we are planning on keeping class times consistent, increasing time spent on Hebrew learning, using interactive teaching tools and planning creative family programs.  We are considering current health guidelines, our diverse school and teacher population (from 5+ different districts), how to keep our staff and students safe, particulars of our learning space, among other considerations.

We are planning to communicate our possible learning scenarios (modified in-person, hybrid or remote) by late July including a Parent Town Hall and family survey. Our final decision on how we start classes in September will follow based on your feedback, up-to-date health guidelines and our commitment to our core values.

Registration: Last Friday, we launched our first on-line Kulanu registration.  Please be in touch with Joanne Wagner for questions. Classes begin Sunday, September 13.
