Digital Delivery and Instruction Survey

Parents are asked to take 5 minutes to complete a survey on the digital delivery and instruction which took place this past spring. We appreciate your open and honest feedback. This information will help us plan the transition into the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you to those who have already taken this survey.

Stallions in the Spotlight
Last month, as we celebrated the members of the Class of 2020, we also made surprise visits to the homes of our 2020 Parent Volunteer Award recipients. Our first stop was at the home of Matt and Keli Beecroft. On May 30, their son Jack was the last of their three children to graduate from DeSales; now all five Beecrofts are officially SFD alumni: Matt '88, Keli '88, Connor '16, Kathryn '18, and Jack '20. For the better part of the last decade, they have shared their time, talent and treasure with our school, and the Be The Light Campus Master Plan.

Next, we surprised Terri Flora. Terri has proudly worn her purple and white over the last 11 years, supporting the school while also supporting her children, Jack '13, Sam '16, and Hannah '20. In 2015 she volunteered as the chair of the annual Casino Royale Dinner Auction, and continued in this role until this spring. Terri was also the Girls Soccer Parent Rep for the last two years.

Our final stop was at the home of Jenni Myers. Jenni is the parent of three DeSales alumni, Kate '13, Eric '16 and Chloe '20, and a proud alumna herself! She has served on the Parent Advisory Board and the Alumni Board and Council, and has volunteered countless hours with the Drama Department and SFD Band.

Our school has been so blessed to have these parents as a part of our community.

On Sunday they kicked off their event with an online silent auction. To register to bid on some amazing baskets, please visit https://pizzurro2020.ggo.bid/bidding/package-browse; once registered you will be able to view the items. Baskets include: golf at Pinnacle Golf Course, Cleveland Browns tickets, vacation vouchers to Antigua, and many more!

On June 27th the Silent Auction will end at 1pm EST, and the event will commence with a Virtual Family Pancake Party. Even if you are not able to donate or bid on a basket, they are asking all families to get together for breakfast, take the time to enjoy your loved ones, snap a picture, and post it on social media with the hashtag #DHSFAMILYPANCAKEDAY.

The Pizzurro Family Foundation was founded in 2016 and has been able to provide scholarships to 8 incoming SFD freshmen, along with generous donations to DeSales High School, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Lifeline of Ohio, and most recently to a family that has been affected by COVID-19. This year, the proceeds from the event will continue to be used for scholarships for incoming freshmen, but will also be used to continue assisting those within the DeSales family that have been affected by COVID-19. Spiritual Reflection
Lord, there are many kinds of blindness. We know that we are blind at times about what we should do or how we should live. In our blindness we often pass by someone who needs a kind word or a helping hand. Improve our vision so that we can be ready to see what you want us to do and whom you want us to help. Amen.
