COVID-19 Update
With the province beginning the relaxation of the rules on gathering, the church is beginning to get calls on when we might be reopening. The Council of Peninsula UC has asked a small group to look at the what-how-when-etc. This group is Carol Monaghan from M&P, Anna Paton from Trustees, Lee Chamberlain from Property, Nikkie Ripka from Third Space, and Kathy Matusiak from Congregational Care. At our first meeting on June 8th we began considering all the available documentation, guidelines and procedures to prepare the reopening plans for PUC. This will take time and patience as our main concern is that we will keep our staff, congregation, user groups and wider community safe. Be assured, you will hear more from us.
Thank you and, like Dr Bonnie says, continue to be kind, be calm, be safe.

Do You Need Some Reading Material?

I have approximately twenty "Churchy" type books which I'd like to give away. I've read most of these more than once but will probably not read them again. Therefore, I'd like to share them with others instead of leaving them sitting on my shelf. There are some best sellers plus quite a few by well-known Christian Gurus.
Those interested may contact me  or call me at 604-818-1775.

Zooming into Wedded Bliss:
I was delighted to receive an invitation to the wedding of my god-daughter in New Mexico but I was curious about the formalities of a wedding held via Zoom. When I mentioned the invitation during one of our virtual Sunday morning coffee hours, the main piece of advice I received was "You must wear a hat!" Before the coffee hour was over, Anna Paton had volunteered her beautiful red fascinator.

Twenty guests watched the nuptials from the comfort of the Zoom room with glasses ready for the toast. There was a bit of a glitch when one of the guests dropped out of view to answer her phone and forgot to tap the all-important mute button. Her background conversation continued throughout the speech from the bride's brother. So a Zoom story will be added to the wedding memories. For my part, I felt I had lived up to the joyous occasion with Anna's red fascinator.
