Do you envision yourself as a leader? Do you know someone who is a devoted member of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and would enjoy contributing even more?
The chamber's Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for its Board of Directors vacancies for 2018.

Directors are elected each year through a single-slate ballot. The committee will present a roster of candidates to the board, which will review the nominees and appoint the new directors, who will serve two-year terms for no more than 4 consecutive terms.

Board member duties include providing leadership, legislative advocacy and information regarding emerging issues in the community, as well as regularly attending the board meetings, which take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Board members also are expected to participate in all the chamber's special events.
 
If you are interested in a director position, or if you want to nominate someone, please contact Bev Jorgensen, Executive Director at the chamber by October 6.

Located in the beautiful Dana Point Harbor, the Dana Point Turkey Trot is celebrating its 40th year!  Our flat, scenic race features a 10k, 5k and Kids Gobble Wobble.  Join us on Thanksgiving Day and give yourself an excuse for an extra piece of pie!

Outlets at San Clemente is proud to announce its third annual Shopping Extravaganza charity fundraiser on Saturday, October 7, to benefit 38 local nonprofits. During the event, consumers receive exclusive discounts at most stores, while Outlets at San Clemente donates $25 for every $35 ticket purchased to a local nonprofit organization of the shopper's choice. In 2015, the inaugural event raised $37,465 to benefit 18 local nonprofits. Last year's event raised $42,150 to benefit 25 local nonprofits.
 
In addition to exclusive discounts, Shopping Extravaganza includes entertainment, opportunity drawings for more 1500 gift cards equaling more than $40,000 and prizes, catered lunch, and VIP wine and cocktail tastings. You Shop. Everyone Wins.

Superhero Holiday Boat Parade

BOOM, POW, WOW ....The holidays are just around the corner, and we are gearing up for a "SUPER HERO HOLIDAY" with the 43rd Annual Boat Parade of Lights, December 8, 9, 15 & 16.
 
This year on the boat parade nights, we are excited to include family fun holiday activities throughout the Harbor starting at 4:30 and providing entertainment and holiday cheer for everyone prior to the boat parade.  We are also excited to partner with the City of Dana Point, County of Orange and the Calif. State Parks at Doheny to provide Trolley service and stops all 4 days of the parade starting at 3:30pm until 10:30pm to help move all our visitors around.
 
Won't you put on your Red Cape and join us in supporting this unique and timeless community event?

"Laughs for Leathernecks" Comedy Show to Benefit 5th Marine Regiment

A star-studded line-up of national touring comedians are coming together on Monday, October 2nd at the Irvine Improv to host the Fifth Annual Laughs for Leathernecks, a benefit "fun-d raiser" for the Dana Point 5th Marines Regiment Support Group (DPMRSG). 

The public is invited to attend and/or sponsor a Marine for an evening out by visiting the DPMRSG website and purchasing tickets. The DPMRSG goal is to treat 125 Marines and their guests to a night of camaraderie and comedy and are asking members of the community to "Sponsor a Marine" as there are still Marines waiting who would like to attend.  

The evening will also include a Silent Auction and raffle. Doors open at 5:30 pm with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m. The $35 price includes dinner provided by Umami Burger chefs, the show and a donation to DPMRSG; there is a no-host bar.

Hunger Walk 30 Year Anniversary

The Annual FAM Hunger Walk fundraiser is a fun walk beginning and ending at the San Clemente Community Center. The FAM Board of Directors and staff invite you to participate in our Walk by signing up and helping us raise money, becoming an official sponsor or making a donation.

For nearly 30 years this walk has raised funds to help prevent hunger and homelessness in Orange County. In 2017 we aim to gather more people than ever to raise money for those FAM serves. 

Come join our 30th year as we walk to end hunger in South Orange County!

Chamber Seeks Hosts for Networking Events
              

Looking to get more people through your doors?  We are currently searching for hosts for 2017 Networking at Noon and Third Thursday Mixers, and have already begin to book for 2018 as well!  Hosting an event allows you to promote your company/venue to business leaders in Orange County.  It is a fantastic networking opportunity and is a great way to showcase your services first-hand to fellow Chamber members.
 
Donating a raffle prize is also a great way to market your business. When you donate to our Third Thursday Mixer raffle, you will have your logo, linked to your website, featured in our e-blasts!

Chamber of Commerce  Scholarship Fund

The Dana Point Chamber members are committed to continued education, not just for current business owners but also for future entrepreneurs.  That's why we've created scholarships for Dana Hills High School students.

Over the past three years we have donated $19,000 to Dana Hills High School students and next year we'd like to support even more students and we need your help! Help us reach our goal of  $5,000 to help five students! Pledge a donation to the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce for the Dana Hills High School Awards Program. Awards are presented at the Dana Hills High School Senior Awards ceremony.
