Online Quarterly Updates for the Evergreen Shores Beach Club Community

Happy Fall Evergreen Shores Residents!

This Summer raced by and Fall seems to be taking the same pace. School is back in session, and fire places and heaters have been put to work already for some residents. As we all prepare for winter season and the holidays, please take some time to catch up on what's been happening and what is upcoming here in the community.

We had another fantastic pool season this summer, despite many cloudy days. The pool had zero closures due to water quality issues, along with a great track record of daily swimmer counts. A huge thank you goes out to Johnny Krawchook for not only volunteering his time, but also his dedication to maintaining the pool and managing pool staff.
We look forward to what next season brings!

Back at the beginning of September, WA Water Company sent notices out to residents about their upcoming project in our neighborhood. For those of you noticing a chlorine smell to our water, be advised that our water will continue to be chlorinated until their work is completed, which is projected to be the end of November. In the meantime, try filtering the water if the taste is bothersome. Any questions can be addressed to Wa Water Co. via their website by clicking here.

The green algae bloom is in full force this month! Be mindful when taking your children or furbabies down to the water. Black Lake is not under a Toxic Advisory, but contact with water during a green algae bloom will lead to ugly side effects, healthwise. If you are fishing, catch and release method is recommended during algae blooms, or at the very least, be sure to clean the fish extremely well. Click Thurston County's link here to check out the current advisories.
Am I hearing gunshots?!

Being a resident of a lake community where legal hunting occurs, can at times be noisy to say the least.

The 2019-2020 Migratory Game Bird hunting season is now upon us. Be aware that the potential for hunting can fall between now until Jan. 26, 2020 and between the hours of 7a-6:30p*. (*These times change weekly. The hour window gets shorter due to visibility and lighting in Fall & Winter, please look this up on their website for details.)

If you witness any hunting violations, please call Wa Dept. of Fish & Wildlife at (360) 902-2936 - opt. 1 to report them.

It is hunters' responsibility to observe the laws and rules put in place by the State of Washington, Thurston County and Fish & Wildlife.

For more information about the migratory game bird hunting season, click here to access an information packed booklet from Fish & Wildlife.

This year's Halloween Bash is happening in 2 weeks!

We are fortunate to have some crew members from Mclane Black Lake Fire Department join us with their fire engine for our trunk or treat this year!

However, we are needing helpers to supervise the games and hand candy out to the children playing them.

If anyone is artistic, we also have face paint from another event but no one to paint this year.

We also are in need of vehicles to participate in the trunk or treat! Click here to sign up as a helper or sign your vehicle up for the trunk or treat!
