GGUSD Continues to Honor Our College-Bound Seniors
Gilbert Students Honored for PAL Program
Gilbert Elementary School was honored by the Orange County Department of Education for its Outstanding PAL (Peer Assistance Leadership) program for the 2019-2020 school year. Gilbert was one of only four schools across Orange County, from more than 100 schools with PAL programs, selected for this recognition.

The PAL group at Gilbert Elementary School includes 35 fifth and sixth grade students, led by advisors Dawn Floyd and Kari Gori. PAL students spearheaded an anti-bullying campaign, led the school’s No Place for Hate initiatives, and helped promote a positive school environment by welcoming kindergarten students and helping all students develop friendships on campus. Additionally, PAL students dedicated time to community service, including writing letters to veterans and donating blankets to the Orange County Humane Society.
GGUSD Spotlights Our Amazing Seniors
GGUSD launched a Senior Spotlight feature to honor the accomplishments and hard work of our high school seniors! Families and friends submit photos and positive messages about what makes their seniors special.
La Quinta High School's Lauryn Magga. A message from her mom: Lauryn has always gone above and beyond to achieve in school and in life. She is the oldest of a family of 5 girls and she is a great role model to her sisters. Lauryn is going to be attending the University of Washington to study psychology.
Pacifica High School's Anthony Cazales. A message from his parents: We love you more than you could ever imagine and we are very proud of you. Mom and dad will always cheer, protect and advise you.
Enders Elementary Hosts Virtual Science Camp
Enders Elementary School hosted a virtual science camp - Camp Quarantine. Each student received a camp hat to wear with Enders pride, popcorn, Golden Graham S'mores, and items to engage in science experiments with. The kit came with a how-to document including links to videos of interactive science experiments, items to create art, and more. Kudos to Enders for developing a fun way to ensure sixth graders still enjoyed their science camp experience.
