REMINDER: KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR E-PASS ACCOUNT
On June 1, 2018, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) suspended SunPass toll collections to upgrade the back-end technology it uses to track and invoice tolls. FDOT has since reported that their SunPass system upgrade created a back log of unreconciled transactions for trips made on Florida's Turnpike and other FDOT toll roads on the SunPass network.

If you travel on FDOT toll roads, their backlog will impact your E-PASS account. These transactions will be delayed and may not show up on your account until weeks after the actual transaction occurred. If you are not sure if you've traveled on an FDOT toll road, check the following link to view a Central Florida CFX and FDOT toll road map .

As FDOT resumes posting toll charges, E-PASS customer accounts should begin seeing June and July toll transactions incurred on FDOT-owned toll roads. The posting process may take a few weeks. Up to three days of toll transactions may be posted daily to clear up FDOT's backlog.

We encourage you to check your online E-PASS account frequently in the weeks ahead. Please make sure your prepaid account is adequately funded and your account information is accurate and up-to-date. You can also check for updates on our website or follow us on Facebook and Twitter at @CFXway for the latest in E-PASS customer news.
BOARD APPROVES RECORD WORK PLAN
CFX’s Governing Board on June 29 voted unanimously to adopt a five-year, $1.9 billion work plan, the largest in the agency’s history. The plan will fund capital and maintenance improvements to CFX’s 118-mile expressway system over the next five years. This includes three interchange projects, widening 42 miles of existing expressways, 50 miles of resurfacing, improved roadway lights and signs, and safety projects. CFX anticipates the work plan projects will save drivers on CFX’s expressways up to 32 travel hours annually.

The next Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 9, at 9 a.m. at CFX's Headquarters Building.
OSCEOLA PARKWAY AND POINCIANA PARKWAY:
PD&E STUDIES BEGIN
CFX has kicked off Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) Studies for proposed extensions of Osceola Parkway and Poinciana Parkway. The PD&E Studies follow the Concept, Feasibility and Mobility Studies that concluded the two corridor projects were viable. The CFX Board approved the PD&E Studies in March.

CFX's Poinciana Parkway Extension PD&E Study will look at a 3-mile corridor from the north end of the parkway to County Road 532 at the Osceola County/Polk County line. The 15-month study will refine and evaluate the alternatives from the concept study in greater detail.

The Osceola Parkway Extension PD&E Study will look at a new expressway connection between SR 417 near Boggy Creek Road in Orange County and the proposed Sunbridge Parkway in Osceola County. This eight-month PD&E Study will compare the alternatives and findings from CFX's concept study and a recommended alternative from a previous Osceola County Expressway Authority PD&E Study.

Both PD&E Studies will lead to recommendations for the preferred alternative for each project. For more information on CFX's current PD&E Studies, click here .
YOUR TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK: SR 408
WIDENING IMPROVES TRAVEL TIMES
Traffic is flowing faster in Orange County now that CFX has opened the final lane on the project to widen SR 408 between Good Homes Road and Hiawassee Road. Recent data shows travel times during peak hours on westbound SR 408 between the Pine Hills Main Plaza and Good Homes Road has decreased from about 10 minutes to just three minutes. Construction began in 2016 to widen SR 408 to three lanes in each direction and four lanes on the westbound side of Lake Sherwood Bridge. Crews also added an open road tolling lane in each direction at the Hiawassee Main Plaza, a second lane to the westbound SR 408 exit ramp to Good Homes Road, and five sound walls across the project limits.   Click here to view the project fact sheet.

CFX INSPIRES STUDENTS TO PURSUE TRANSPORTATION CAREERS
Junior Achievement of Central Florida's career fair, JA Inspire, on May 17 presented CFX with a wonderful opportunity to encourage young students to consider pursuing careers in transportation.

The event drew nearly 4,000 eighth-graders to Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, where they met with representatives from the hospitality, professional services, law enforcement, transportation and construction industries.
CFX Public Information Officer Alicia Arroyo shows project plans to an eighth-grader attending JA Inspire.

CFX’s team interacted with students who expressed interest in knowing more about a future in transportation and what kind of job skills they would need to work at CFX. They also asked a lot of smart questions about the company, tolls and E-PASS.
