The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) released A National Strategy for the Elimination of Hepatitis B and C: Phase Two Report in March 2017. How do these strategies apply to the work of cancer control professionals, viral hepatitis community partners and policy makers? What can you do to reduce new cases of liver cancer in your community? Register now for a CDC-funded webinar on May 16th at 2PM EDT to learn about the link between viral hepatitis and liver cancer. This webinar will be accompanied by slides, notes and resources suitable to present to your comprehensive cancer control program staff, coalition members and stakeholders. Hope to see you there!

Presentation at the AOSW 34th Annual Conference: CoC Patient Navigation Process and the Oncology Social Worker
The Commission on Cancer's Patient Navigation Process Standard requires a triennial Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to assess the community's health care disparities, resources and barriers. Oncology social workers have the critical skills needed to be key members of this process. Workshop presenters at the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) 34th annual conference will discuss the critical role of the social worker in creating and using their CHNA and developing a Patient Navigation Process for their cancer program. A toolkit created by the GW Cancer Center in September 2017 will form the basis for the workshop. To learn more about the conference, please visit www.aosw.org.
