THANK-A-SOLDIER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT:
Come participate this coming
Sat., Oct. 19
, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at in this amazing community service project in collaboration with Keller Williams Realty in Magnolia Park. The event takes place at UME Federal Credit Union's parking lot (3000 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank 91505). Bring a donation item from the troop's item wish list, and then help put together care packages for our brave troops. Kids can create artwork for the care packages, too. HEROES AND VILLAINS: For industry folks, artists, and downright story lovers, 9to5 at WB and the Hollywood Prayer Network are hosting a workshop at Emmanuel Church on Heroes and Villains with Pastor Brian as the keynote speaker. Join us this coming Sat., Oct. 19, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Lower Auditorium, to learn about what the hero and villain archetypes teach us about a theology of beauty, as it applies to our humanity. SEE'S CANDIES FUNDRAISER: Student Ministries See's Candies Fundraiser is Back! Help a student get to camp by purchasing See's candy for Christmas. Students are selling
this coming Sun., Oct. 20, through Oct. 27. Come to the table outside to make your purchase. We want to get our Christmas candy in time, so October 27 is the last day to order. Thank you for helping our students get to camp!

WOMEN'S EVENING BIBLE STUDY: The Women's Tuesday Night Bible Study will start a new study on Tues., Oct. 29, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Lower Auditorium. DIVERSITY POTLUCK LUNCH: Save the Date for Emmanuel's ethnic cultural diversity celebration on
Sun., Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. in the Gym. The day of the potluck: Drop off items in the Gym Kitchen between 9-9:20 a.m. Please bring serving utensils with your dish. We must be able to either refrigerate your food or keep it at room temperature. (We cannot reheat.) However, hot food may be brought in crock-pots. Remember to label your dishes and utensils, and take them home after the potluck.
