A Celebration of Cats We Have Loved
|
On October 4, Cat Care Society held a ceremony for staff and volunteers to celebrate the lives of the shelter cats we lost in the past year. They all found their way into our hearts, and we remember them with love and affection. Executive Director Jan Kelley read the names of the cats, and Volunteer Coordinator Amy Martin presented the Rainbow Bridge poem which touched everyone deeply. The group then scattered rose petals in the garden in memory of our beloved cats.
If you would like to read the Rainbow Bridge poem, please click this link: It is a fitting tribute to the enduring love between humans and animals.
All the cats were very special, and here are pictures of several whom we cared for.

We've had several special adoptions recently. Among them are Scuttle, who was a "bandana" cat. Those of you who have visited the shelter know that a bandana on a cat means you should take a little extra care when approaching the cat. They can still be loving cats to share your home, just like Scuttle.
And Grimly, one of our FIV cats, was adopted. FIV cats can also make wonderful companions in the right home.
