Our Care, Our Choice Act - 2020 Update

Compassion & Choices will be hosting a webinar on June 16, 2020 and provide updates regarding the Our Care, Our Choice Act (OCOCA) and Medical Aid in Dying (MAID).
 
This webinar is designed for physicians, mental health professionals, pharmacists, hospice physicians and nurse navigators from all Islands to hear more about how the law is working, share some personal stories, and answer your questions regarding medical aid-in-dying.

The webinar will be moderated by Samantha Trad, Compassion & Choices Hawaii Director, and will include the following information:  

  • An overview of Telehealth/Telemedicine and an OCOCA Update provided by Laura Arcibal, Dept. of Health

  • An Update on the OCOCA Numbers: Laura Arcibal (DOH), Dr. Miller (Kaiser), Dr. Goodyear (Mental Health), Michelle Cantillo (HPH), Isobel Webster (HI Cancer Care)

  • Personal experiences from Dr. Charlotte Charfen (Big Island) & Dr. Mel Palalay (Oahu)
