MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members,
I hope to see everyone in attendance at TASC's 22
nd
Annual Trade Show being held this week on Thursday, November 7th. As always, the Past President's committee has worked hard to get many suppliers which gives us all an opportunity to meet and speak to them on a one-on-one basis, to learn more about their product and help us grow our business. Once again, on behalf of the entire membership of TASC I wish to thank each supplier for their continued support.
There will be a light dinner and prizes for those that wish to stay after the trade show (5:30 – 7:00 p.m.), There are some very nice gifts that will be raffled off. Here's hoping I win at least one. Kudos to Jeaneane De Cicco and the entire Committee for the time and effort in putting this event together. All agents are welcome to the trade show but must RSVP for the dinner only. See full details elsewhere in this newsletter.
The November General Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, will feature everyone's favorite, Barbara Canizio of Globus Family of Brands to present to all of us the various brands that Globus has to offer and update us on their products to help us better inform our clients to increase our businesses.
As in the past, our NOVEMBER meeting has been our meeting of donating food to the needy. Please remember to bring non perishable food items which will be donated to a local Food Pantry.
Please remember to respond if you are planning to attend our Holiday Party this year which has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 11th, at Meadowedge at the Mansion at West Sayville from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The music will be played in a separate room so that there can be conversations at the dinner tables without the need to scream or turn up the hearing aids. So, make plans to attend and bring your significant other. Better yet, have your significant other take you. You must RSVP by November 15.
Everyone is asked to bring a Toy which will be donated to those less fortunate.
This month we commemorate veterans of all wars.
Veterans Day
occurs on November 11 every year in the United States in honor of the “eleventh hour of the eleventh
day
of the eleventh month" of 1918 that signaled the end of World War I, known as Armistice
Day
. Thank you to all those who have served!
Yours in Travel,
Garrett P. Simulcik, Sr

Here is the latest information on this worthy charity:
"1.5 million meals served in The Bahamas
UPDATE:
As of October 28, WCK has served 1.5 million meals in The Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian, and we’re still cooking.
Just over 5 weeks after Category 5 Hurricane Dorian devastated the northern islands of The Bahamas, World Central Kitchen has served our 1 millionth meal.
Logistics for #ChefsForBahamas have been incredibly complex. With such extensive damage on multiple islands, we have extended our operations to deliver meals by whatever means necessary. In this case, that included not only the use of 30 vehicles, but also sending 5 helicopters, 2 seaplanes, a 220-foot ship, an amphibious vehicle, and 4 speedboats to more than 250 delivery locations.

This organization has also been first on the scene in Puerto Rico feeding those in need following the last disaster hurricane to hit that island. Chef Jose was honored to throw the ceremonial first pitch at game 5 the world series this year. (wck.org)
