Each Wednesday and Sunday throughout the COVID-19 novel coronavirus pandemic currently gripping our nation and world, our Sisters will share anecdotes and spiritual tidings with our families, friends, alumnae and benefactors. We hope these messages will help to nurture a sense of solace in these trying times.
The Family That Prays Together Stays Together
In this time of extended isolation, our Sisters -- and surely some of you -- have become accustomed to viewing Mass on television or online. The same is true of the Kuzma Family, whose members tuned in from the their own homes in various cities to watch as Father John Paul Kuzma, OFM Cap -- nephew of our own Sister Roselyn Kuzma --celebrated Easter Mass at Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church in Philadelphia, Pa. The family's newest member, Baby Grace born on April 14, was just days old when she "attended" her very first Easter Mass.

The Kitchen:
A Living Bread
As most of us are currently unable to go out to dinner at our favorite restaurants, we find ourselves at home in our kitchens, preparing meals for our families or even just for ourselves. In the poem below, Sister Marie Bernadette Kelleher reflects on the daily dedication of Sister Anne Kutch (pictured), whose ministry is to keep our Sisters at Monocacy Manor well fed.

In the ministry of this moment
Is her strategic place to be,
Where many Sisters before her
Worked with confidence and glee.

It is her faithfulness of the moment
That brings peace and love to her call,
Kneaded together by human labor,
The rest flows from giving her all.
God's Medicine is Love
Sister Mary Martha Zammatore is often inspired by sentiments sent to parishioners by Rev. Jojappa Adagatla, pastor at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Whitehall, Pa. Sister shares with us one of Father's recent thought-provoking messages:

God's medicine for all problems of humans is love. Someone asked God, "What if it doesn't work?" He smiled and answered, "Increase the dose."
