"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest" Mt 11:28

We Are Eager To Welcome You Back!
Dear Friends at Christ Our Hope,

What a wonderful blessing to able to see some of you this weekend as we return to Church for public Masses. For those I am not able to see due to the pandemic, please be assured of my continued prayers for you and your family.

As we make this important transition, I wanted to take a moment to share news about two other transitions at Christ Our Hope. This is the perfect time to thank two people who have been wonderful contributors to our parish success story in recent years.

After five years with Christ Our Hope, office administrator Pam Thompson is stepping into retirement effective July 31 st. She has longed for this transition for some time and graciously extended her time with us since the pandemic hit. Originally, Pam was going to make this move in May or June. But circumstances gave us a few extra months of her many gifts. Pam has put together a wonderful organizational blueprint for her successor with details galore about the many things we do on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis, and will be available to help train her replacement once hired. Thank you, Pam, for being such a terrific organizer and "the glue" through three different pastoral leaders for our parish community. You will be greatly missed by all.

After three years with Christ Our Hope as Immersion Coordinator and Communications Team lead, Lauren Pusich is moving up at Catholic Community Services effective this next week. We knew this day was coming due to her abundant organizational talents. Lauren will become the Pastoral Mission Coordinator in South Seattle at Catholic Community Services and will help link parishes in her region to the important ministry happening at CCS and CHS. This is a big next step for her in her career with CCS/CHS and we couldn't be more proud of her. Since graduating from Seattle University and coming into Christ Our Hope and the Josephinum, Lauren has been an impact player, leading efforts to bring Christ Our Hope and the residents of the Josephinum together in shared ministry as well as being the bridge from Catholic Schools and Churches to our unique Church community. Lauren promises to remain a parishioner at Christ Our Hope. We are most thankful for her contribution these past three years and look forward to her impact in our community in the years ahead.

Please join me thanking Pam and Lauren and wishing them all the best in the future.

Peace,

Deacon Dennis Kelly
Pastoral Coordinator

Christ Our Hope Reopening Guidelines

Yesterday our community sent out an email about how we are safely welcoming our community back to Mass. If you did not receive that email, please let us know. You can watch Deacon Dennis' video message in English here and in Spanish here. All those who would like to attend Mass must preregister online via this form on our website between Mondays at 9:00 AM and Thursdays at midnight. This week for Masses on Sunday, July 5th our registration deadline is extended until Saturday evening.

Our parish office remains closed though staff are available via phone and email. The Church is closed except during Masses on Sundays. Thank you for your understanding, support and prayers during this reopening process.
Stewards of our Strengths

As a Stewardship parish, Christ Our Hope parishioners continually share their gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Now we are looking to recruit more volunteers to help support our communities in new ways during our reopening and our continuing virtual communities. We encourage all parishioners to take time to listen and discern where the Holy Spirit is calling them to serve. Do you hear a call to assist in hosting our online opportunities to make all feel welcome in the body of Christ? Do you have the desire to join our new parish Racial Justice and Reconciliation Collective to help our community discern future actions? Would you be interested in helping our communications committee increase our social media presence? For these and other possible ministries for which you feel called, please contact the parish office.
Prayer for Transition

In July 2019 Rev. Jamie Greene, the Chaplain of our Choir of Hope, shared with our community a prayer for transition. Thank you Jamie for your enduring words! We look forward to the day that we can hear the Choir of Hope sing again.

O Lord, our refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of transition
Even though change can deeply unsettle us, we will not fear
For you are with us; you will always guide us along right paths.

O Shepherd of our souls, may your rod and staff protect and comfort us
May your goodness and mercy continue to follow us

Upcoming Virtual Sunday Hospitality

This Sunday join us for virtual hospitality after the 8:30 AM Mass via Zoom where we will gather to share what is currently going on in our lives. Please also mark your calendars for Sunday, July 12th  when we will have Lauren Pusich be our special guest where we can celebrate her time at Christ Our Hope and wish her well. All are welcome to join us!

Thank you to our parishioners Mike McKasy, David Ard, Bruce Carter, Jane Heinrich, Jo Vandersnick, Issie Sime, and Joan Bergman for sharing their stories at this past Sunday's hospitality about living out their faith by volunteering and ministering in our local community. Our faith calls us to service.

Our virtual engagement opportunities over Zoom will continue even as we begin to return to mass. All parishioners are encouraged to attend these virtual gatherings as a way to stay connected with our larger community. A full list of these opportunities and their links are available on our website. All events are facilitated for free over Zoom in your internet browser. Consider attending our Women's Encounter God group, Breaking Open the Word hosted by the Ards, Coffee Hour with Deacon Dennis and Fr. Bryan, and so much more. Please note that on Wednesday, July 8th our Breaking Open the Word group will be at 5:00 PM instead of our normal 4:00 PM meeting time.
