Issue 13
Dear Friends,

Most of Davis Street families who already cannot afford groceries, utilities, childcare, medical care, let alone school supplies for their children, have been majorly impacted by the repercussions of COVID-19. Our families are experiencing economic hardships through job loss, home loss, and now have less or no income for food or supplies to support their children. With Shelter-in-Place still active and schools opening back up in Fall, our families who already are in-need now have the added stressor and are incapable of affording school supplies for their children in the new school year. Please help us provide our children with the tools and supplies they need to succeed academically, so our parents do not have to choose between school supplies and food for their families. Please click the flyer for more information on how to help. Thank you for your continued support in helping our children overcome these obstacles.

From my heart to yours,
Rose Padilla Johnson
Chief Executive Officer

Meet Emile Awwad. Emile has worked in Davis Street's Food Warehouse, helping feed families and seniors in-need since 1995. During the COVID19 pandemic, Emile implemented a safe grocery bag pick-up following CDC protocols. Emile also hand-delivers groceries to Davis Street's seniors and at-risk clients that cannot leave their homes during Shelter-in-Place. Emile is more than family to everyone here at Davis Street. Thank you for all that you do, Emile, you are a hero.
